My first time here. My love of my life recommended I join so i did. Here I am. My name is Mike Biros. No it's not Stephen and no I am not a saint. Far from it actually. Any Grateful Dead fan would be able to tell you that Saint Stephen is the name of the first track off of Aoxomoxoa. (Aoxomoxoa was already taken. Kudos to the lucky bastard.) Anyway I, not unlike many of you, adore the Grateful Dead. No words could accurately describe my infatuation with the Dead. Muxicians I dearly dearly enjoy: The Grateful Dead, Phish, Jerry Garcia Band, Old & In The Way, Devendra Banhart, Wilco, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, REM, Simon & Garfunkel, The Who, the list goes on and on... But feel free to call me Stephen anyway. And if you are so compelled to, you may also refer to me as a saint. I love all things intellectual. Philosophy up there as one of my favorite areas to study. I love to think. If you guys have any interesting things to ponder, I'm the one to ponder with. I play bass guitar in a folk-rock band called Burgundy June and would dearly love to learn to sing and play bass at the same time. As of now, its one or the other, not both. I am slowly but steadily picking up the mandolin and I ernestly desire to learn how to banjo. (Yes banjo's a verb) The band I'm in consists of the love of my life, Kelly, on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, her brother, Nate on lead guitar and backup vocals, myself on bass (and hopefully backup vocals soon), and a strange kid with a unibrow named Nashaud on drums. Nashaud is the kinda drummer who focuses more on the music than on the drumbeat. It can be insightful at times, but most of the time it's frustrating when he tell's me how to play. He's also from Bangladesh so I call him a Bangladouche. Kelly (AmericanWanderer) and I fell deeply in love at the beginning of the summer. Our taste in music is nearly identical. She likes folk a bit more than I do and I like jambands a bit more than she does. But the differences are miniscule when compared to the similarities. And things have only progressed. Her voice is divine. Her guitar playing is magnificant. Everysingle aspect about her is gorgeous and beautiful and perfect. I cannot say one bad thing about her. She is perfection in it's highest form. Nate is nate. He's young and can rip on guitar. I don't know how he does it but he does. But with being young and magnificent on guitar, he is also a tad bit egotistic, but we love him all the more for it. I like to mountain bike. I like to ski. I used to like to run, but I hurt my knee and now I don't like to run as much. I've competed in a few 24 hour mountain bike races and I ran the NJ marathon last spring.
Hello dear. Since I am your referrer, I have the priviledge of being your first replier. Um . . . wow. You're way too nice to me. When compliments come from you, they sure as hell mean a lot. I almost want to cry. No, I won't, don't worry. Lol--"Kudos to the lucky bastard." So, some words of advice about his forum . . . don't go onto the Christian section. I don't know why you would, but a while ago I got in a big fight with some snob over there, and they're really all meanies. Most of them, anyway. Young Hippies is cool. I like that forum. And also, we need to get another picture of you, Saintie. Want me to scan that one of you whistling? We should get one of us together to prove we're not just cyber boyfriend and girlfriend and to prevent all the hippie chicks from stealing my man. I'll cyber kick their asses!
I must say very groovy. Warped enough to make it interesting, but not overdone so it's unrecognizable. And yes, we need some pictures.
pleasure to met you! i just got to know kelly, and she is a very wonderful person, so im sure your a good person as well! You guys have great taste in music
salutations! pleasure to make your aquaintance rhasta penguin. Thanks for the compliments on our taste in music.
Hey Mike & Kelly, Glad to have you aboard, (that's the sailor in me), LOL. Ya’ll sound cool enough, like Kelly I too play rhythm and some lead and I can sing too. I’ve been playing for over 30 years. Any way enjoy your stay with us. Point to ponder: If a Ram is a Ram, and an Ass is an Ass, then why is a Ram in the Ass a Goose?
