best selection will be at your local health food store.

the big box stores around here are starting to carry a few of them--i've seen tea tree and eucalyptus at hellmart.

Make sure that they are 100% pure essential oil. especially if you are getting them for their therapeutic effects (Plus its always nice to have the real thing). And don't buy them in clear bottles, they go bad fast when exposed to sunlight. And they are pretty expensive

See...that's what I was wondering. I see the little brown bottles of oil at craft stores all the time, but aren't they just for use with those little ceramic thinga-ma-bobbers that diffuse the scent? Or are they genuine essential oils?

I'm sure what you buy at the local craft store is far from a pure 100% essential oil. Frontier that someone mentioned is a good source or you could try the Essential Oil Company.

    www.essentialoil.com

Their oils are the best. If using them for therapuetic or medicinal purposes you want to use pure oils. Also be careful how you apply them. Tea Tree, Lavendar, and Chamomile are the only oils that can be applied directly to the skin or in the bath. All other oils have the potential for burning. They need to be mixed with a carrier oil such as canola or jojoba. Plain old canola oil from the kitchen is okay. It's better if you use organic, explerer pressed oils.

Anyway, that's probably more info than you wanted.

there's a blotter test that you can use to see if an oil is actually an essential oil...
