I've been reading this book series recently, and i have to say it's one of the best series i've read in quite a while. The imagery used is incredible, and the overall plot is on such a grand scale. Is anyone here as obcessed with this series as I am?

I love the series but I wouldn't say I'm obsessed about it.. I would say that I find K Leguin's Earthsea novels and Donaldson's First and Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant to be better.

Don't get me wrong.. I love the Gunslinger books but they are not books that I feel compel to keep with me as I travel from continent to continent.

My only real complaint is the way that the books are ended right in the middle of the story.

I'm sorry but i find anyone who can pump multiple books out within a year sucks! Sure he has a hit evey once and a while but the mayjority of his books are just a pathetic attempt to make money. I realize i am not quite "in to" the whole horror/thriller book genre, but give me a writter who has written four incredibly amazing book in his/her life time and i would pick those four book over all of King's books.

I really like most Stephen King books. His masterpiece, in my opinion, was the Stand. The Dark Tower Series is great too, although I the same as many others, got really pissed when he left off writing them for several years and ended the last one with a riddle. I recently read the last one "song of Suszanna" (can't remember how it was spelled) and that was one of the best in the series. The final one will be out in September. There were bits and pieces of the Dark Tower in lots of the other books he wrote, the walking dude (man in black) was in the Stand for instance and Callahan was in Salems Lot.
I agree that there are lots more authors with series vastly superior to this, Dune being one of the most notable.

I do like a lot of his books and The Gunslinger series is pretty good. I can't really think of a favorite right now.

I love it, though I never got through all the ones that are already completed. Now, I'm holding out for the end. Then I'ma read all of them all together. :-D

The Dark Tower series is Stephen Kings best by far. I haven't read much by him lately, but this series is a must. I am impatiently waiting for my dad to finish the latest one so he can pass it on my way.

I like the DT series a lot, and have read some of the books in the series more than 2 times.

A book by SK that I enjoyed more than any others is "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon". It is very different than a lot of his work, but is very good.
