this is really weird and i have no idea what it could be. occasionally there is this weird "rotton egg" smell that pop up in certain rooms. its very potent and stays for a while but then just goes away. first it was showing up in the bathroom.....then in the laundry room....and today it was in my bedroom. (the bathroom, bedroom and laundry room all all near each other). i have no idea what it could be or why it shows up every now and then and then just goes away. any ideas?
Elle, it's probably hydrogen sulfide and it could be from your hot water heater. Check out this article to see if any of it applies to your situation. Here's another site to read.
natural gas is usually scented too, so you notice the smell, all nasty like. Might be a dead rodent as well.... maybe get someone to come and inspect your home, a plumber or someone who deals with all the furnace/heater lines and such. I'd definitely get it checked out though
