Ahhh Renee's. My favorite early in the morning are the sausagebroodjes. Turn left at the dam monument, Maybe 100 meters on your right. I like to rent apartments on that area.

Some of my favorites, cheapest first. FEBO, Falafels MAOZ, Rimini Pizza, Kantjil and Tijger takeout, Al's Place fish n chips, Thai Corner, Puri Mas Indonesian, and Los Pilones Mexican.

I don't like admitting it but sometimes after midnight while waiting for the twice per hour night bus on Damrak just North of De Dam some greasey Colonel Saunders (KFC)chicken and a Pepsi really hits the spot. They're open 'til after 2 AM on weekends.

Well you admitted it, lol. I am quite proud to say I have never set foot in a McD's, BK, KFC, or even the Hard Rock in Amsterdam. We got that shit on every corner where I live and I rarely eat it here. I like some of the Argentinian Steak houses. Not the chains, but the individual ones. Many years ago I thought you could only get a good steak in the USA. I was way wrong.

plenty of argentinian steak houses near the leidseplein but its a bit of a crap shoot.....ultra touristy area. If your lucky enough to enjoy your meal, you probably won't enjoy the service. If you manage to like both then definately keep the business card of that restaurant!!!

When I want hot food and don't want to spend too much I used to go to Grill Maya in that area but its nothing special at all. Also on the same street as Grill Maya there is a very good chinese restaurant. Start at the BK and walk down that great street its on the corner of. Go past Grill Maya keeping it on your left and either at the first or second cross street the chinese restaurant will be on your left (corner location)
