    :D!

i know nothing about digital! i'm still using 35mm film.

    help!

  2. in theory a film camera has as high resolution as the chemicals\compounds exposed on the film

for all intensive purposes, analog, it is an imperfect replica, but the difference is minor to the point of idiocy, that's why you can take an analog picture and blow it up just about as big as you want to so long as it was taken properly (focus, developed right, etc)

a digital camera on the other hand has variable resolution, and variable light sensitivity, this can be good or bad, if you have a very high resolution you can blow up a picture pretty big and it maintains clarity

if it's low, well look at my sig, that's the output of my camera scrubbed a little to make it more clear

instead of having exposures most of them have flash memory (like an nes or snes, hell gameboy cartridge, just different) the size and sort of picture you take (if you have a choice) will fill the camera faster or slower

oh dear, there is more..... I just can't pull it out of my head...

    I'm the same, LOL
I like digital cameras too but on the other hand I like my
SLR (film) camera as well, only because of all the weird
and unusual lenses I have for it. Also, if you know your
way around a darkroom, theres nothing better than wasting
an afternoon developing and messing around with photographs.
But on the other hand if you have Photoshop then digital pics
come into their own right. Nothing can beat my SLR camera
lenses though such as Telephotos, fisheyes, split field, macro,
let alone all the filters than can be used with them.
Nothing wrong with 35mm, it taught me stuff about photography
at college that digital cameras could'nt, but it's nice to have
    both cameras though.

You can get digital SLR cameras these days. I love all the stuff you can do with an SLR that you could never do with a conventional camera. The majority of digital cameras on the market though IMHO are best used for snapshots. For the more artistic or professional pictures an SLR is the best way to go. Just wish I had the money to afford the price tag though.
