Man, i love the deep synthy dark dnb, and the Jungle parties around here are sweet...especially the outdoors during the summer..I love dnb, jungle, breaks and speed garage...however I got sucked in to the scene through fluffy trance lol..So many people dont give it a chance...electronica is "techno"....therefore everybody thinks they hate the repetative stuff. I wish there was another way to get it out there...but the underground thing is refreshing.:)

As mentioned, Aphex Twin is a legend! All albums are grand :)

Don't own anything quite as harsh as James, I'm more for the calmer side I guess. Air and Mum being two acts I'm fond of. Orbital too definitely, saw them for the first time (and the last) at Glastonbury back in June and the fitting word was mesmerizing!

Portishead are amazing and they'd be band I'd try to squeeze in here! More of that sort include The Beta Band and Super Furry Animals. Ah and Radiohead of course, "Kid A" is a fantastic electronic album.

Has anyone heard about a guy who has remixed the entire Kid A album? Haven't tried looking myself, but, should anyone know.

Shoud always be a mention for Brian Eno too :H

[IMG]I hated Drum and Bass when I first heard it. I wouldn't even drive in my friends car because that was all he listened to. Then after going to a few raves, I began to understand where DnB was coming from. It seems like all the really good stuff was from the UK and Europe where it is much more mainstream. When you enter the DnB room at a rave you can feel the mood change, it's like a jungle! You don't see anymore candy kids with binkys and bead necklaces, laying on the floor in huge E-puddles. No more PLUR with it's massages and light shows. The drugs change too, no more X, you only have Cronic and acid. The music gets deeper and deeper and you start to understand it. I miss the old raves in downtown L.A. right off the 101 at Alemeda. Back in 2000, 2001, When they would go all night and never get shut down, in an abandoned warehouse. Frostys and Animania, and the bigger massives at the L.A. colloseum AND the Sports Arena like Together as One, the'll never pull that off again!!
