Hey, I was just thinking I would give some good praise and feedback for this silicon cup I've been using for my period. It's called the diva cup http://www.divacup.com/ and I've been using it for about a year.

I was actually feeling unhealthy and occasionally nauseous (sp?) when I used tampons and I quit using them about two years ago. And I LOVE this thing.

Just thought I'd tell you women about it. Men too I guess...if you want to get your lady a gift.

    Peace....

I've heard about it before. The whole suction thing kind of weirds me out but in the back of my mind I'm always considering trying it.

works great unless it is too wet for the suction to "grip."
Of course this is my experience with the latex one, Keeper.
The suction, which you don't feel, is what keeps the liquid in the cup as opposed to using an absorbent cork.
The Keeper comes with a 30-day gurantee. (returns are melted, I asked)

I use a Mooncup, it's made from silicon and I find it very easy to use. I also love my cup and I'm not filling up landfills :)

(drumminmama - I'm not stalking you, honest!)

What's the difference between the Divacup, Mooncup and the Keeper?

The Keeper is made from latex while the Divacup and Mooncup are made from silicon. Mooncups are made in the UK and Divacups in the US I believe... :)
Their shapes differ but not by that much.

Why don't we solve this problem by just getting rid of the period in the first place? I mean, seriously.

I've always pictured a device a little like a vacuum cleaner.

lol ya i wish.....but ive read that the reason women tend 2 live longer than men is bc of their periods. i guess it like cleans out a lot of toxins in ur body. that could b wrong but lol it made sense 2 me.

    Hmm really?

I'm not sure if that's a good thing.
