just started constucting a homemade bong

i'm using a gatorade bottle first off..... i like the big mouth

anyways, i used a metal pen body as the stem and the little twist off part as the bowl.....i used Extra green apple gum to seal around the stem, now all i have to do is let the gum harden and cut the carb out......

do you guys think it'll work.....i really hope so....it's been a while since i've smoked from a bong

 

I don't know. But you're hot, you smoke weed, and you make shit.

 

if you make it correctly, you should not need any gum to seal the stem. the best way to make it airtight is to use no gum. thats the BRILLIANT thing about using plastic bottles. you can be ensured perfect airtightness.

all you do is melt the hole so that its -smaller- than the stem/downpipe you are using, then you PUSH the stem/dp int he hole. the harder you have to push, the more guaranteed it is airtight once you get it in.

how do i go about melting the hole?.....with a lighter? or do i heat something up and poke it through

anyways, it worked pretty well but i put it outside so the gum would harden and it started raining so it ruined it..... and i just bought a glass stem today to help me because the bowl with the pen was really really little

hmmmmm a gatorade bottle is kind of thick, if that doesn't work, i'll just use some silly putty to seal it.....

 

what if i wanted to make a gravity bong?? How would you suppose i get the hole/bowl and seal on the top of a gatorade cop or milkjug cap. I love gravity bongs but i can never make one with a good seal. i usually burn a hole in the cap and slide my chillum in it.

 

Best way I've seen to make the whole is a soldering iron. If one isn't available, a *heated* pointing thing will work.

 

I use tin foil molded around the top of the 2L bottle... never had a problem...

 

Heres what i did... we took one of the big bottles of arrowhead water (1.5 liter) and we poked a hole in it, then we took some duct tape and taped over the hole and made it pretty much air tight agian. Then we cut a little hole in the tape where we made the first hole, then we took a pen and took it aprt and pushed it all the way though the tape and the whole and made a down stem for out bowl we took the metal part of the pen witch is like 2 inches long, and on one end took a socket witch i found on the ground (a really small one bigg enough for liek snapper bowls) duct taped the sockt and the metal pen tip together and it fits perfcetly in the down stem and it hits bitchen...ill get pics up later today of everythign so u knida know what im talking about....ttyl

last time i used gum to seal the metal pen downpipe to the plastic bottle, it melted all over the place.....forgot that metal conducts heat (the bowl was a metal socket)
