Has anyone else recieved this email before? It drives me mad! I want to gag, I wish I had just deleted it. I mean, it is okay to have your opinions about things, but its wrong to just make something up, and/or force your opinion on somebody else. They even put Atheists in a bad light. Prepare to be mortified- iF SOMEONE HAD A GUN HELD IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND ASKED YOU IF YOU BELIEVED IN GOD, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? SAY NO AND FEEL ASHAMED THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? OR SAY YES, I DO, AND DIE STANDING UP FOR GOD? If you would say no, DELETE THIS E-MAIL , NOW. IF YOU WOULD SAY YES, AND STAND UP FOR JESUS CHRIST, PLEASE READ THIS AND PASS ON. Note: This is a true article that was printed in a southern newspaper less then a year ago There was an atheist couple who had a child. The couple never told their daughter anything about the Lord. One night when the little girl was 5 years old, the parents fought with each other and the dad shot the Mom, right in front of the child. ((Because Atheists are SUCH violent people.)) Then, the dad shot himself. The little girl watched it all. She then was sent to a foster home. The foster mother was a Christian and took the child to church. On the first day of Sunday School, the foster mother told the teacher that the girl had never heard of Jesus, and to have patience with her. The teacher held up a picture of Jesus and said, "Does anyone know who this is?" The little girl said, "I do, that's the man who was holding me the night my parents died." If you believe this little girl is telling the truth that even though she had never heard of Jesus, he still held her the night her parents died, then you will forward this to as many people as you can. Or you can delete it as if it never touched your heart. Funny, isn't it? Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God). Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace. Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Funny how we can go to church for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week. Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. Pass this on only if you mean it.
(laughs very heartily) Finally! Some anti-atheist propaganda that is entertaining! Thank you for sharing this, dark-to-the-h! ... (laughs again) because atheists are SUCH violent people ... (laughs some more) Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the beginning! I was grinning as I was reading it, I was like, YES!! SWEET!!
you have no idea how much of that junk i used to get, back in the day. then i started talking back to my fundy friends, and they don't send me anything anymore. when i read it, all i hear is "wah-wah-wah" in my head... "or you can delete it if it didn't touch your heart/wah-wah-wah-wah" funny. i bet my mom would fall for it. even most women i know. women are suckers for these jesus sob stories. darkhippie, you rule.
I get all kinds of stuff like that in my spam box. I've asked people before to stop sending it to me because I have no such religious beliefs, but the only thing that comes of that is they want to try to "save" me. Now I just delete them. It is easier than getting preached to. I had 18 years of being preached to and there ain't anything I havent heard before.
I've never heard of the song before, do you know what it's called? Oh well, it isn't important anyway... It was pretty entertaining, once you get past how annoying it was. The second time I read it, I was laughing.
Why would the author of this email assume that some theist who denied believing God in order to save his life would NECESSARILY "feel ashamed the rest of [his] life"? Turning it around, if some guy with a big cross on his T-shirt held a gun to my head and asked me if I believed in God, and I said 'yes', I wouldn't be ashamed for the rest of my life (or even the next several minutes). I'd be quite happy to have the opportunity to see my children grow up. This is one of the many times pragmatism trumps idealism.
Funny how even though every christiany email says this at the end. More christiany emails end up in my spam box than random forwarded jokes. Funny how they compared what's allowed in cyberspace to what's allowed in school and the workplace. Our public schools and and workplaces allow much more Jesus talk than lewdness and obcenities. What's allowed in cyberspace has nothing to do with what's allowed in public schools.
People should be considerate of other's beliefs before they start sending them religious messages. I don't, and wouldn't, send satanic emails to the christians I know.
The name of the song is The Little Girl by John Michael Montgomery http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/montgomery-john-michael/the-little-girl-7270.html
iF SOMEONE HAD A GUN HELD IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND ASKED YOU IF YOU BELIEVED IN GOD, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? SAY NO AND FEEL ASHAMED THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? OR SAY YES, I DO, AND DIE STANDING UP FOR GOD? Neither. I'd stand tall, feeling no shame, and loudly and confidently state I honestly cannot claim I believe for sure there is a God, and that if there is, I bet my life that God is cool with that. If you would say no, DELETE THIS E-MAIL , NOW. IF YOU WOULD SAY YES, AND STAND UP FOR JESUS CHRIST, PLEASE READ THIS AND PASS ON. I will be the one to choose if I delete this or not. Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. The world went to hell cuz we all effed up, believers included. I don't believe the news, and do believe in much that is in the Bible, but am no Christian. Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. If Gandhi, Buddha, and Chief Seattle ain't going, I don't want to, yet I do lots that the Bible says to do, cuz it's good advice. Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God). What if 'God' is the deceiver and fooled many, and 'Satan' was the right choice all along, for those who needed to choose. Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Maybe that's cuz they know folks appreciate a good chuckle to a good scolding. Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace. Funny how totally unrelated those two points are? Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. A tad presumptuous. How do you know why I do things? Funny how we can go to church for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week. That is actually quite humorous, and very common in my experience. Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. If you really believe in God, that's not funny, it's very sad, maybe even worth professional help to fix. Pass this on only if you mean it. No, I won't, but I do mean everything I said. And where do you get off telling me what to do? Don't.
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this Happen?" (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?" In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school . the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK. Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW." Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace. Are you laughing? Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us. Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in. "Good friends are like stars.........You don't always see them, but you know they are always there That's the one I got. Even more obnoxious.
