I don't know how much of a contest this poll may be, but I'm curious anyhow. Which do you prefer, Tool or its sister-project Perfect Circle? (Dammit, screwed up the part where I set up the poll... oh well.)
T00L for me definitely... although i do love a perfect circle...i just love the hidden meanings behind T00L songs...the way you can study them to find out stuff...they've led me onto so many things...the number of books i've read because they've been quoted or paraphrased by T00L is kind of worrying...but it's the sort of stuff i'd never get hold of otherwise...
I havent heard much perfect circle but i dont really like them. theyre sound too mainstream for me. Tools got a unique progressive sound that the other band just doesnt have. theres nothing wrong with sounding diferent, thats good. but not when you end up sounding like half the rock music on the radio right now.
a perfect circle is like a back massage. tool is like sex. sure, a good rub down feels great, but nothing beats getting laid.
That is a great way of putting it. Don't get me wrong, I really like APC, they just aren't quite on the same level as Tool. I recently saw APC live, they put on a great show. It just makes me want to see Tool live even more. Next tour Tool puts on, you can bet your ass I'll be there.
Heh, very well said. I'm more of a Tool fan too, though I like them both. I've only seen Perfect Circle live though, it was a great show. I know some people who prefer Perfect Circle over Tool, so I figured I'd put this question up. Yup Just the chin and under/around it. Further down the neck that's just shading though if that's confusing at all.
I have been listenin to Tool since Undertow, even saw the tour. I an a HUGE Tool fan, one of the best bands of all time. Maynard is at his best, Danny is just awe inspiring. But it isn't fair to compare it to APC. I think that is just Maynard's way of being a little more human and a little less rockstar. I respect that he can do both so successfully.
TOOL!!! I've seen them both live & like them both; but TOOL in general is such a better band & I love Maynanrd either way...
tool isnt that original. if you listen to some king crimson you would hear alot of tool. i mean its original compared to most 'music' that is played today... but thats not to hard. a perfect circle does sound a bit different, but its still good. i like the singer( maynard?sp__) ... his voice is pretty good. you cant compare them they are to different. tool is a man and APC is a woman. you cant compare the beauty of a woman with the beauty of a man. not possible
yea, i couldn't have said it much better... i like them both, but definitely like tool more... and experiencing either one of them live is a very unique experience... i really don't know if there are words to describe the feelings they invoke. awesome.
I don't know, I can't make up my mind...:& I mean, Tool is for the mind, A Perfect Circle is for the heart
Dude, you DO know that Maynard is the singer for both Tool and APC, right? haha. It's a hard call...I like 'em both for what they offer. I guess I'd choose Tool though. But yeah, I don't think the two should be compared.
yeah, tool rocks, while a perfect circle seems like just a side project meant to pacify the teeny bopper crowd. Throw a girl into the mix, and you've got the perfect pre-fab, non-pop group.
mike, i don't mean this as a low blow, but if you can't appreciate the intensity of tool's rhythms and the amount of energy they all put into the music, and if you can't gain something positive out of the lyrics in the songs, then i feel sorry for you. to me, whether or not someone appreciates what tool offers tells me a lot about who they are as a person. if you don't appreciate them, i probably wouldn't want to know you. open your eyes. this world doesn't have to be so ugly ya know. of course, some people will just never get it. good luck to you.
It's funny that King Crimson was mentioned. Danny, Tool's drummer, Adrian from KC and Les Claypool have a lil side project going and I am really excited to check it out
I loooove tool. I saw them live when I was like 12 in vancouver, oh man. It was completely an experience. It almost wasn't music anymore, maybe thats because I was so high, lol, but whatever. Yeah, amazing show, amazing band, Maynard has one of the best voices I've ever heard.
