i think im going to do myself up a brand. I'm a displaced farm kid so it would be ironic to me.(branding iron - ironic - yuk yuk). but brands historically are a mark of ownership, so to be true to my past i should decide who or what owns me...
maybe i could do a banker getting shot in the face... nah, too detailed. no doubt i'll do something simple. I always wanted mountains as a tatoo - i could do that in a brand. maybe break the the scabs and rub some ash into the design. if i get my iron designed, i'll post a picture of it so you can all call me an idiot. I have this fine steel wire that i 'll use. a little piece of wire art, but heated up red hot and, tsssssssssss.

SWEET!!! You should totally do it. mountains sound cool.
That gives me an idea... i wonder about making a brand and then tattoing over it, so it can be like a tattoo with texture. that might be kind of cool. hmm....

preliminary tests show that you should shave the body hair off the area you intend to brand. I just did some repetitive diamonds on my calf.. and they look amateurish. but a bunch of small irons used to make a whole seems ... doable. easier to keep the wire hot on a small iron.

even tho the corners were (fairly) sharp on the iron, they show up rounded on my skin.

im thinkin now that i'll shave, then clean up with an alcohol swab, then brand, then smear on some antibiotic petroleum jelly. i'll see tomorrow how the scabs look. maybe then rub in some ash of some kind, then antibiotic jelly again. not too sure what ash yet.
