I know the wax is not you guys' cup of tea at all, but I am still tempting to use it because I play basketball every 2 or 3 days. The hair will smell like dead fish if I left it unwashed after playing. In addition, I have a very straight and thin hair. so the dreads might be more difficult to hold. so I am thinking, if I just put a Little Bit of beewax on Day 1, wash them on Day 4 becoz of the sweating smell, blow dry the hair properly, do the backcombing and beewax thing if there's any loose dread, and then repeat these actions everytime I wash the hair. Please correct me if you have a better idea. (any advices will be highly appreciated)
only re backcombb after a week cause it will distroy more than help after a while... and whatkind of wax 100 beeswax?
I still say you don't need it. It won't smell like dead fish. And even if it does, throw some water on it and rinse off the sweat. How's waxing going to help smell?
well, wax is just to make my dread stay together, I though if I had to washed it regularly, I would need to put something to prevent them falling apart!?
No. Wax'll just get it all greasy and stuck together, not knotted together. They'll lock and mat together on their own.
Don't use wax.. seriously.. don't. If you need some hold try knotty boy gel. It's nothing compared to the hold of wax but it's 100 times better for your hair.
Wax and gel and anything like that, its designed to stick the hairs together not make dreads. Wash your hair often but DONT use conditioner. use a natural shampoo which is designed to dry the hair and you will be fine.
Noooo wax, evil stuff !!!!!! just wash your hair in a au natural shampoo & dry it & your locks will be fine, but for the loveof god, don't use wax !!!
its better to wash your hair more, your hair dread easyer when not all greassy and slick,,, i'm not going to advise you to use wax.
