ive only seen em on tv. when i was young, and magicians would play at parties, id try to foil their tricks. sometimes i would, othertimes theyd catch on and frustratedly move the performance along, you know, all 'just drop it you little shit' style. so ive got angst against magicians. ill learn one day. but theres no rush now.
I did a magic trick in one of my classes on Friday... I swallowed half a pencil and coughed it back up. It scared the fuck out of people.
There are plenty of books out there, if you're interested in learning. My father has tons. My grandfather was really into magic and ventriloquism. He had a dummy named Eddie who he performed with so convincingly that when I was little, I used to try to talk to him (the dummy) after shows and wonder why he didn't answer. That's one of my fondest memories about my grandfather. But I don't want to cry, so I'm off the subject. My father was really into magic, now he just doesn't have time for it. I know how to do a lot of tricks, but I'm just not very good at it. I don't know. These days, nobody has enough imagination to enjoy watching magic. That's why no one does it anymore. There's no market for it.
