what happens when a lot of strong minded uranians get together? i'm reminded recently that what happens can often be a shit fight. that may be b/c we're all such strong willed and individualistic ppl which can manifest itself as a leo-like determination to get your own way and not be crossed. in a crowded room with lots of ppl doing it, this can be disastrous. i know i've been guilty of it too: hating to be shackled to the point where i see someone else's will and desire as being a threat to my own integrity and freedom when it isn't that at all. the thing about being a uranian tho' is u r always striving to strike the higher balance between individual freedom and collective responsibility. while we hate being told what to do and what to think our uranian consciousness also has tremendous capacity for seeing the bigger picture and the greater vision, beyond merely the concerns of one individual. sometimes it requires sacrifice to the greater vision and sometimes asserting our individuality, no matter how eccentric it appears, is more important for us. but my affirmation of difference shouldn't come at the expense of yours. the trick is finding a way to communicate and relate that will accommodate both tendencies. that same dichotomy of self/collective forms the battlelines of the struggle we see today erupting in the world: how far should one group be able to go in asserting its own rights to be as free and as individual as they want when that dream of freedom is realised at the great expense and suffering of many others who go without basic human needs? it seems to me that the pendelum has swung too far over to the side of the 'individualists' and to the detriment of collective responsibility and care. this is no longer individualism anymore, not in the uranian sense of the word, but rather it's out and out selfishness and greed: sort of like sociopathic and dysfunctional jupiter energy. our right, for instance, to use as much gas as we please has become an unconscious demand that gives us this strong sense of entitlement, without a thought given to how limited this resource is and how privileged our civilisation has been to enjoy it for so long. when the oil runs out - as it will with all finite things in the world of matter - what do we do then? then, we will be faced with a thorny dilemma. we can revert to the old prototype of dog eat dog, or we can strive to expand our minds and our willpower towards realising an aquarian solution to this great problem that's before us. the time to begin that expansion is now. b/c aquarius is an air sign (and uranus is thought of by many as mercury at a higher vibration) as with all things aquarian we will find our solution to this dilemma through mentally questing and developing our minds to cope with the challenges of the brave new world. my advice: start meditating now.
Ello people, Im only just sober, so my apologies if this makes no sense at all. I also feel like im not really on the Earth at the moment...i lost myself somewhere in the cosmos about 2 weeks ago...but, i shall try my best Firstly, i ask everyone to read the post above me very carefully...i feel its an important message for us all. I often find myself so engrossed in proving my own individuality and independence to myself that i forget im only a tiny part of something huge-the whole of humanity as a single unit...and sometimes im so busy being myself i dont notice that other people are left behind-completely baffled and assuming im selfish and cold. Also, as much as we may want radical change-and want it now(well i certainly do), that often just cannot happen...it pains me to say it, but people need time to adapt, time to see and to realise and to agree, before we can progress fully and successfully. Although we can cope with sudden change, and even sometimes see it as a positive thing, a lot of people cant. So what im trying to say is-ive learnt that i get my messages across most effectively when i take care with my words, when im not too forceful, and when i at least try to be patient and gentle...this is the only way people will accept some of our views sometimes. I look at the world now and see the uranian ideal distorted and corrupted....the world seems to have forgotten the "let live" part of one of my favourite mottos-"live and let live"...Its become "live and let die", and in some instances "die and let die"... After much thought ive decided that what we have forgotten in our frenzied race towards the ideals of freedom, equality and individuality, is an appreciation of beauty. The world has become ugly...we wanted to be free to travel, and so we smothered acres of land with grey concrete, completely forgetting the human souls need for beauty. Weve become typically mathematical, logical, analytical....in a word-cold. Religion has forgotten its wonder and mysticism and has become a series of repetetive rituals....or twisted ideas. I fear deeply that a grey world- a world of metal, concrete and high-rise flats(a world without beauty) could seriously damage the soul. And so although i do see progress, i also think its important that in this process we remember the need for sensitivity and care...maybe we should surround ourselves with water people. Anyway i better go and drink some coffee or something. Oh, and ive found meditation to be a great help too. I tried asking myself the questions, but found that my mind just threw a question right back at me...like "can i get through this?" "What the hell are you askin me for?"...an air sign thing? Or my pure weirdness? anyway, i remain determined to succeed Love-Maxi.Xx
My anus is exalted in Scorpio. Until now I did not know that I was a Uranian; I just thought I was a creepy geek. Huzzah! We will win the battle for the soul! The future is ours my fellow anuses.
u know it's been three months that this thread's been posted here and this guy is the first one to make that awfully hilarious, not to mention startlingly original, connection. not bad for a disparate group of cyber-dwellers with profane tongues i'd say. might even be something of a record. but as i never tire of reminding little pop terrors: it's YOUR anus not mine, baby.
maxi, this is rather a brilliant post. i missed it at first but i've just read it now & i'm almost blown away. i think the importance of beauty can't be underestimated as u say. i seek it in external forms and representations or as internal reveries, tending to err on the side of the mental. this is an air thing i'm sure and being around earth and water influences can help to mitigate the mono-focus of the purely intellectual and at least ground or personalise our fantasies. anything that silences the mind and engages the heart and senses is therapeutic. sometimes i love to sit down and look at pictures in a book, or watch ten crap videos in a row. other forms of escapism i know but where beauty is concerned can too much be enough? i also find the human form, esp of course the male form, constantly pleasurable as something of beauty to ponder and sometimes when i'm very lucky, touch and hold. but as much as beauty is indulgence in a box of rich chocolates it's also a mental construct we weave with our minds, and one that can be subjectively applied to just about anything we choose to venerate or so honour. what we see can be made beautiful. this applies as much to our selves as it does to objectified things. who can look inside and see something of beauty within? who can experience the beauty of a powerful inner sensation, whatever the sensation might contain, even one of fear, anger or lovelessness? who can embrace inner fear even when it's not, putatively, beautiful but embrace as if it were? that sounds paradoxical but in its own uranian way it's an important key to understanding ourselves and learning to liberate one from the dreadful secret past we all cling to. try sitting down sometime when you don't feel very happy, or are afraid or lonely. instead of suppressing try welcoming that feeling into your house like it's the prodigal son. see what happens when you do... it's been a hard slog for us these past few months. anyone sensitive to the heightened ebbs and flows of the planetary energies knows, whether or not they can admit it to themselves, that we're in trouble. big trouble. all of us, collectively, here on this earth project. it's difficult sometimes to remain awake when going back to sleep would be so much easier. so keep the coffee perculator running.
the last desperate days of the kali yuga (iron age) are marked by mankind's violent greed for material things, his and her obsession with getting them and an accompanying lack of what you might call compassion. these awful qualities are shared by all who are unable or unwilling to resist the nature of the times we live in. for it's more to do with the quality of the times rather than something intrinsically 'bad' in ppl that has brought us to the precipice of destruction. jay weidner's article on the hyper-dimensionality of space and time is a real eye-opener and a must read for anyone who is at all concerned with the spiritual welfare of this planet and themselves. what he, and other writers such as john major jenkins, has done is to collect and compare the various beliefs that ancient civilisations held about 'the end of time' and, not surprisingly, they have found that a constant theme has emerged. the precession of the equinoxes, which causes the great platonic year of 26,000 years to happen, is integral to our understanding of how time works. our solar system revolves around the centre of the galaxy, or the milky way. how long this takes is anybody's guess but it must be in the order of many, many millions of years. the precession of the equinoxes is a much smaller cycle within this bigger one and it's the one that is effecting us now and will effect us even more in the few years ahead. to simplify the idea, we can say that for half of that 26,000 years of one cycle of precession, that is for 13,000 years, the earth's orientation is towards the centre of the galaxy and in direct line with the massive amounts of light and energy that emanate from it. for another 13,000 years the orientation of the earth is away from the centre and in this period earth experiences spiritual darkness as the light and energy coming from the galaxy's centre are outside earth's purview. we, on earth, are at the end times of the long 13,000 years of darkness and about to re-orientate towards the centre once again. the (northern) winter solstice of december 21, 2012 will mark the final end day of the earth's orientation away from galactic centre. the winter solstice marks the shortest day of the solar year when the sun is the furtherest away from us it can get. as soon as the winter solstice is gone then the sun begins to return to us and the days become longer and the weather begins to warm. on a grander scale this is what is happening to us now. we are about to reach the 'winter solstice' of the great platonic year. the darkest day of the long 13,000 year period of darkness will soon be here. once we have marked this day the earth, for the next 13,000 year period will be orinetated towards the light and energy of the galactic centre and a new and enlightened age, the aquarius age, will begin. the ancients called this turning point 'the end of time' and this knowledge of galactic alignment and the beginning of a new golden age constituted the heart of their mystery school's secrets. symbols of galactic alignment can be found everywhere even today. the christian cross, for example, originally marked the alignment of the milky way (the verticle line) with the precessional cycle (the horizontal line) but this knowledge is now forgotten. but this is a time for remembering so i urge all uranians everywhere to find out as much as they can about the approaching alignment and get prepared for the new age. shedding all material trappings that u don't need and to which you've become attached is the first step in getting ready. the other thing to do is remember that the days ahead of us, now in this short term, will be dark days indeed. what do they say: the darkest hour is be4 the dawn? well, this is true of our situation now. be prepared to see our leaders attempt to wage nuclear war upon us, as all kinds of weird and perverted ideas manifest themselves in these last frenzied days of darkness. we must hold firm and not surrender to the madness. however bad things get it's vital that we stick to principles of love, trust and truth. from this will emanate perfect love, perfect trust and perfect truth. the beginning of the aquarius age has special meaning of course to all uranians everywhere. this is the beginning of our time. aquarius is the fixed sign that marks the seasonal quarter of the great year and for the next 2,000 years or more aquarian ideals and dreams will dominate mankind's existense. this will become a new golden age where aquarius's humanitarian and social ideals for a just and peaceful world based on truth and love will not seem like whacky science fiction, but, with the changing of the quality of the times, will become eminently sensible and obtainable. in short, everyone will be a uranian. personally, i can't wait...
i posted this is the 'galactic alignment and the golden age' thread but it's good, so worth posting again here. below, rene guenon, the french writer and intellectual gives us his opinion on the kali yuga and the golden age. read the last paragraph if you are worrying what the 'end of time' means. it's very reassuring... Kali Yuga and the End of Time by Rene Guenon According to the Hindu tradition of cosmology, we are now nearing the end of the Kali Yuga (the Age of Iron) which is the final and most negative of four evolutionary Yugic cycles. Each Yuga is like the season of a super-cosmic year, even greater than the cosmic year of the precession of the equinoxes. When the Earth came into its current phase of manifestation and the first Yuga began ('Satya' Yuga, meaning 'Purity') humanity was barely removed from its original state of God-like innocence. This was the original Golden Age. As time progressed the planet underwent the influence of a negative descending spiral, and the quality of life in each successive Yuga became further and further removed from the knowledge of truth and natural Law (in other words, 'Reality'). In the second, Treta Yuga (Silver Age) spiritual awareness decreased by one fourth and by the time of Dvapara Yuga (Copper Age) negativity had a 50% holding. In the Kali Yuga the vibration has become pretty murky and humanity is labouring against heavy odds. Righteousness (right-use-ness) has diminished to scant one fourth of its original strength. Throughout our current history we have created and been assailed by all the evils of Pandora's box. No wonder the human race is having such a difficult time. But the turning point has now arrived, and the dawn once more sheds its light on a confused and ignorant planet. The Vishnu Purana, one of the oldest sacred texts of India says about the Kali Yuga, "The leaders who rule over the Earth will be violent and seize the goods of their subjects... Those with possessions will abandon agriculture and commerce and will live as servants, that is, following various possessions. The leaders, with the excuses of fiscal need, will rob and despoil their subjects and take away private property. Moral values and the rule of the law will lessen from day to day until the world will be completely perverted and agnosticism will gain the day among men." There are many other references to this division of time. For instance, in the Bible, Nebuchandnezzar's dream (Daniel 2:31-45) was of a bright and terrible image with a head of finest gold, chest of silver, hips of brass and legs of iron. The feet and toes were of iron mixed with clay. This image was destroyed by stone, unmade by human hands, which crushed the feet to dust and the pieces blew away in the wind. Although Daniel the prophet interpreted the various metals as the world empires which succeeded Babylon, the dream also has a more cosmic meaning. It represents the great yugas. The iron legs are the Iron Age or Kali Yuga which deteriorates at the end of its cycle into the present unstable civilisation symbolised by the feet of iron and clay. The prophet interpreted the stone as the true kingdom of God which would replace the other civilisations as the real and lasting Kingdom. THE END OF A WORLD This end only appears to be the "end of the world," without any reservation or specification of any kind, to those who see nothing beyond the limits of this particular cycle; a very excusable error of perspective it is true, but one that has nonetheless some regrettable consequences in the excessive and unjustified terrors to which it gives rise in people who are not sufficiently detached from terrestrial existence; and naturally they are the very people who form this erroneous conception most easily, just because of the narrowness of their point of view. ...the end now under consideration is undeniably of considerably greater importance than many other, for it is the end of a whole Manvantara, and so of the temporal existence of what may rightly be called a humanity, but this, it must be said once more, in no way implies that it is the end of the terrestrial world itself, because, through the "reinstatement" that takes place at the final instant, this end will itself immediately become the beginning of another Manvantara...if one does not stop short of the most profound order of reality, it can be said in all truth the "end of a world" never is and never can be anything but the end of an illusion. Youre not the only one... It seems in the last few weeks weve fallen deeper and deeper into an abyss faster than ever, as people rush blindly in all directions like startled gazelle, trampling the others on the way. The world has become more dangerous than ever as people are feeling the strain of these unusually rapid times, and as we mentioned before, are becoming increasingly motivated by selfishness, greed and satisfying their individual needs. And seeing the world like this it is easy to fall into the trap of actually joining these people...of believing that we genuinely are all alien to eachother, that we have no connection, that humanity is a huge group of very different individuals and nothing more. But what it is important to remember is that we ARE all still connected. We ARE all one...were all still part of one movement called humanity... If you take a pile of black powder and a pile of white powder in equal measures and mix them, you get one single pile of grey powder. From above, this powder will always be just one single shade of grey. But if we imagine that we are just creatures the same size as these grains of powder, down on their level...all we would ever get to see is individual, separate grains of black and white. And so it is with humanity. Were at such close proximity we see people as each being separate entities and nothing more. But to the higher forces, the forces above us in the heavens and in the highest heights of our souls, we are the grey powder...the single whole. It is also important to remember that, as james said, we have not become "evil"...it is just the extremely powerful influence of the times were living in. Also, that there are still thousands, millions of people out there who are aware, awake, and full of good and the wish to help humanity. All that said i realise that sometimes the strain of coping with what people seem to have become is too much for us. The world has become loud and bold and brash and this is an unnatural environment for sensitive souls. The most beautiful sounds are the quietest ones, and the most beautiful sights live in peace. And so ive found that sometimes it does no end of good to simply retreat...sit in my room in silence or meditate or listen to some very quiet music. Its incredible how many marvellous surprises can be found in serenity. Xx
