I only knew him by name but didn't know his music. I've always read very positive things about him so somehow I had the feeling that he might be a bit overrated. Well, the other day I was at a mate's and heard this real crap music. Apparently, my mate had put on a Jeff Buckley CD. Man, it was horrible. I know that it's all a matter of taste of course, but honestly, I can't understand that there's even one human on this planet who like Jeff Buckley's music.
naaaaaaaaaaaaah i mean okay compared to tim, jeff's a bit overrated but he's okay! i love tim i like jeff.
I love Jeff Buckley's music but I agree that Jeff is (like every other dead artist of the 90's except for Shannon Hoon) a bit overrated ,though Grace was really a great album and "Last Goodbye" and "Lover You Should Have Come Over" are perfect songs in my opinion. and I also like Tim...the first two albums anyways
i enjoy jeff buckleys music, though i have only heard grace, i think its a good album...i dont really think he is overrated, probably because i rarley hear about him.
*nods*he's not constantly on the radio or anything...i ment overrated in the way that reviewers/critics often refer to Jeff when they need to label a singer, happened to Radiohead,Muse,Haven,Starsailor and even the White Stripes
sorry that i'm always goin on bout tim even in jeff threads but erm check www.timbuckley.com and go to videos, beautiful version of honeyman on there
Ohh how i love Jeff' music, and i don't think he's overrated at all. There are so many people who still don't know or have any idea who or what he is. (musical genius ) And on the other side that's quite beautiful as well..his live in chicago dvd is amazing i've played it till death, and there's no way i can ever get sick of his music.
jeff's not as bad as you say, I've got practically everything ever released, I love the live in chicago dvd as well...well he didn't write much and there's rarely anything new I hear from him but I loved all the covers he did most of all. I mean bob dylan, nusrat fateh ali khan, edith piaf, van morrison, leonard cohen, judy garland, nina simone, hank williams, he just covered such a variety of artists it's apparent without knowing much about him that he was a genuine lover of music I second that tim buckley was better (though I used to like jeff more)
