What's the first album you ever got?

Picture it... Rural Saskatchewan, Canada, 1986. I was in Grade 3. Saved up my allowance to buy Madonna's "True Blue", in cassette format.

I truly don't remember the first album I ever bought, but I had quite a Beatles collection before I was old enough to buy albums. The first piece of music I ever bought was a 45 - Aretha Franklin's Respect.

 

Jimi hendrix - Are You Experienced...a great album indeed, jimi got me into the whole sixties music thing

 

Green Day "Warning" was the first i bought myself in grade 7 or 8

I reckon a lots a rural men folk who went meidieval on their side burns years ago.

 

its was one of thoses simpsons soundtracks, then later that day it was led zeppelin 4 from my uncle, it was christmas.

I believe it was -Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band- which i had saved up for on my 2 quid a week pocket money for a month to get the CD! i was 6 and was attracted to the cover...

The first album i heard was -Out Of The Blue- by ELO, and thats probably my number one album.

 

the first CD I bought myself was Derek and the Dominos- Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. I was...11 I think.

My First Vinyl was....I think actually I bought three at the same time. George Harrison's "Living in the Material World", The Beatles "Hey Jude", and Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti"

I'm not entirely sure what it was, but it may have been Metallica's Black Album, or The Smashing Pumpkins' Adore.

 

I don't have a bloody clue, but it was probably something classical, as that's all I was into when I was really young...long before I discovered the joys of folksong and acid rock, I was die-hard Beethoven and Mozart.
