my kick ass mom recently put in dreads by backcombing, i have rubberbands securing each end of each dread. they have been in for a few days, and i was wondering when i would be able to take them out with them falling out(which i doubt they would). and another question... can you swim with them in a pool?

I kept my rubberbands in for like 2 days and took em out cuz i read that the rubberband slows the dreading process around. So i would say you can take them out whenever you want, cuz my dreads didnt fall apart or nething only after two days and i didnt use wax. And yea you can swim in a pool. I did when mine were about 1 month or so, i just rinsed them after i was done so i got the chemicals out ya know. It actually helped, its just like washing them haha. And i noticed when i went swimming that after i went under and came back up my head felt so heavy from the dreads haha. peace~

Yeah, you don't really need the rubber bands. Just roll them in your fingers and in your palm a lot. They'll lock up really fast.

    Swim away.
