Was just passing by.. came across a few posts I liked.. thought I´d get to know some of you I´m living in NL at the moment - international living has been my calling, so I identify with various nationalities - although "tagged" by none. This board appears quite diverse at first glance, and I am looking for ways to increase my "virtual" social circle - considering how much time I spend behind a PC yet still havent found my niche!
Hey Miss Brown Sugar (Sweeeeet) and I'm not ignoring you. I just haven't gotten around to welcoming you yet. I’ve been so busy, counting all the bees in the hive, and chasing all the clouds from the sky, a mans work is never done. Let me extend the welcome mat. I recently found “The Hip Forums” myself and I know what it’s like to be a newcomer. You don’t really know what to say or how to act. Read some of the threads so you can get the gist of what topics are being discussed. When you feel comfortable jump right in and get your feet wet. Nobody here is going to “Flame” you, that just isn’t tolerated here (unless it’s necessary) lol. We get some assholes here who just want to stir up bad vibes... From what I’ve found so far is that we are one big family with many brothers and sisters. Once again the doors open come on in, open up your heart and mind, put on some groovy tunes, kick back and stay awhile. Peace & Love, DDR Quote: Groucho Marx “If I said something nice about your body. Would you hold it against me?”
Hi Dudley While you were off being manly, I´ve been pondering in relative silence - waiting for your call Thanks for the welcome, I feel officially "DDR´ed" and I hope we meet up again on this forum. Z
Point To Ponder: If your in the Netherlands and you call yourselves Dutch. Where does Holland come in?
In this current era, Holland is the English term for The Netherlands (nederland) ... which is Dutch. Pre 1850´s The Netherlands included Belgium territory - and currently Belgians speak "Dutch" but it is a dialect which is considered Dutch in international circles, but is, in reality, Flams.
Yes..you're very right about that.. Dutch is Nederlands.. Holland refers to two provinces...North+South Holland.. Belgians speak Flemish(Vlaams)which is understood.. in the Netherlands..some Dutch don't like to be called Hollanders..ask Lisa..she's a Hollander Benelux..means Belgium,Netherlands+Luxemburg.. great place...wouldn't like to live anywhere else..
