why is it that no one really talks about this band?? I know they are rather derivative (sounds like stevie wonder) but, for the time (late 90s) there wasnt really a decent funky fresh band out there......

People just are in the dark to them here in the States. They never hit it off here and Jay Kay really doesn't like touring here much. When it comes down to it for me however I really only dig Emergency on Planet Earth and Return of the Space Cowboy even though I own every cd (besides the latest)and a few boots.

And though at the very surface them seem derivative there are many elements in there playing including R&b, funk, jazz and disco.

    And he is a nutter.

I like Jamiroquai a lot. Their sound is really funky and they've got some really good songs. The latest album is very good, Seven days in sunny June is an awesome, relaxing song. Jay Kay's voice is maybe a little monotone, but also very charming and warm.

the one time that I did see them I got very nervous of the hyper-active performance of Jay Kay on stage, groovy dancable music but not recomended when you're stoned ;)

    Hahaha.

I love Jamiroquai. One of my favourite bands at the moment.
They have a lot of good songs, but Virtual Insanity is probably my favourite.
