I'm lookin for movies that detail and depict the whole 60's revolution. Be it musically, politically, etc. For example, Forrest Gump shows events from that generation, as does Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, or the movie The 60's. Thanks for all your help peace and love adam
Dude, how about "Hair"?? Total '60s rebellion movie, anti-war, pro-drug, full of music and love. Very entertaining movie. Great songs! Blue skies, -Jeffrey
i'm sure blow shows goes through the 60 era, infact i'm sure it does, all the hippies on the beach smoking pot!
Easy Rider is awesome! Great music, interesting idea, very good acting, plus it was made in '69 so it reflects the spirit of 60s the best.
The Trip, and Psych Out do but they are not as of now released in North America, which is a problem for me, but not for a ton of you guys, so if you are in a country offering them, they look pretty awesome...
a modern hippy movie (documentary actually) is "Tie-Died". It's about the dead head schene. Pretty good, some flakey people in it though, but hey we are all the earth's children.
In Getting Straight, Elliot Gould is a student teacher who's against the Vietnam War. He supports the student protests at his college, but learns that his support might jeopardize his chances of becoming a certified professor, so he has to choose.
I can't believe no one mentioned "Alices Restaurant." I mean, some of those titles above, they're ok and all, but some are more polished or what the media thought hippies were. But Alices Restaurant, come on, Arlo Guthree got that whole thing started! Not saying the others are bad tho, not at all, just that this one is closer to the real thing. (HAIR was good too.) Namaste, Lotus
I'm right there with you on this one. I think that there are probably more movies with hippie characters than movies about the whole era. Big Lebowsky comes to mind. (although arguably)
