Hey all. I'm trying shrooms for the first time with my mates tomorrow so I was just wondering what all you people suggest is the best way to go about it. Day or night? Indoors or outdoors? Music or chatter? Give some pointers happy campers! Cheers!
How much are you planning to eat? I would recommend 1/8oz. Outside at night is great if it's not too cold. It's definitely better in the dark and with some shadows with some trippy music playing. Make sure to be with people you are comfortable with and in a comfortable setting. Do not eat anything for a couple of hours prior to the trip, as eating can weaken the trip and maybe produce some nausea, as well. If you start to panic in any way, just remember that you are in absolutely no danger at all. Shrooms cannot hurt you. Go into the trip with the knowledge that you are going to be alright, no matter how intense it happens to be. Have fun and tell us how it goes.
I never understood why people like tripping during the day. Nighttime is so much more relaxing and visually pleasing, IMO. I especially love looking up at the silhouette of the trees against the moonlit sky, that's some trippy ass shit. Animals and insects also make alot of noise during the night, which really adds to the experience. My dick got hard typing this paragraph. Man, I love shroomin.
haha shroomin is awesome, and yea at night is so much fucking better, but if it's your first time, i would take em about an hour before sunset, so while u peak you can watch the sun go down which is unbelieveable... then you can trip well into the night as well, so you get the best of both worlds, and after that you can decide which you like better, for me during the day is neat because everything is so colorful and sweet looking, but night is just where it's at, it's so trippy just chillin outside lookin at the stars, the moon, the clouds, its amazing, god damn i love shroomin, happy shroomin dude
Hey thanks guys. Yeah one of my mates actually suggested day time was the way to go but I'd still prefer night. I prefer smoking at night as it's so peaceful and still. But if I can, sunset sounds like a good compromise. Best of both worlds. Anyway, some more questions. How long do the effects last, as long as acid? Is it a bad idea to mix shrooms with weed? When I mixed weed with acid a few months ago I absolutely flipped and it wasn't cool at all! Which do you all prefer, acid or shrooms, and what are their differences?
Shrooms are great with weed. They last from 3-7 hours, depending on how much shrooms you eat and how much other food you eat. Try not to eat too much food before or during the trip. If possible, eat 1/8oz of shrooms. I prefer shrooms over acid, personally. They've always been more visual in my experience. Shrooms definitely feel more natural, which is one of the main reasons I prefer them to acid.
Well.... I had shrooms, then acid, then weed. Yeah I was off the bloody dial. That was the most insane experience of my life. I will NEVER look at things the same again. I thought I'd lost my mind for good. The hallucenations were so vivid. It was totally awesome for ages but as the hours dragged on it became terrifying, acid just lasts too long I reckon. It's too intense. I now have a shocking head ache, I reckon my brain was under so much stress and panic it totally cooked itself.
best time to trip is at night. At home. rent a bunch of movies filled with irony like Pulp Fiction for example. Detroit Rock City is another good one or Home Alone, Mouse Hunt, Baby's Day Out and others like that. oh and have fun.
j\w why you choose night over day? I find that I'd rather do ANYTHING during the day lol, as in be alive, smoke trees, have sex, eat food, play snes. You know, anything. The sunlight gets me higher. I find night is sometimes dull for drug experiences due to the lack of sunlight.
I always find that the nighttime takes me deeper into the experience and allows for more introspection. Plus, the visuals seem to be more defined in the dark.
Ahh I see, the absence of light is what you like so that your mind works harder to create visuals. TM used to do that, sit in a pitch black room on mushrooms just so his mind would create ALL of his surroundings. For me, sunlight just gets me high, it's fucked up. I've found that if I spark a blunt on a big open highway while it's nice and sunny out, that I am in one of the best moods I could possibly be in.
I agree, smoking a blunt on a nice day is one of the best experiences in the world. I love riding down a dirt road slowly with some good music playing and the windows rolled down with my best friends passing a blunt around. That's what heaven is gonna be like.
i know this is an unpopular and potentially dangerous thing to advise, but personally i think that the first psychedelic trip a person takes should be experienced alone, and without tv or anything more high tech than some music. its a rite of passage, its a test of one's ego and mind, it's a definitive moment in your life, and most of all IT SETS THE TONE FOR FUTURE EXPERIENCES! not everyone is cut out for psychedelics, some people freak out and hate them. some people freak out even if they have someone to comfort them. the best way to know if you can handle psychedelics, imho, is to make sure you're as informed as you can be about what to expect, to completely throw all those expectations out the window, and then go for it-solo-with a good solid dose. the experience will undoubtedly be all the more hard to handle, but if you come through it in one peice and you want to trip again someday, you're probably going to be the kind of person that can handle them. if you freak out or hate it or think you're dying, you should probably stay away from psychedelics - forever. not to say that just because you have a good trip by yourself the first time with no one else around means you wont EVER have a bad trip....but i think its a good indicator of how you could handle your psychedelics. this philosophy, if ever commonly implemented by drug users on a wide scale, would most likely end up in a lot of bad trips, and would end up in a much smaller psychedelic community. but imho, the psychedelic movement is first and foremost about PERSONAL experience, personal spirituality, personal insight and exploration. it can, when you better understand the effects of these tools, help create new dimensions in pre-existing interpersonal relationships, and bring people together, and teach you new things about love...but i feel their benefits are more personal than social. i think a large part of my belief in this approach to tripping is due to the fact that most of the psychedelics i've done, i've almost always done alone, especially for my first time. DXM, mushrooms, acid, 2C-B, 2C-E, DPT...even alcohol, i all consumed by myself for the first time, if not for almost EVERY time! and i've never had a bad trip and always was in the psychedelic mode of thought, even prior to having ever taking any of these things. so you can take this for what you will, can call me an advocate of stupid and irresponsible behavior, and i can't really argue with you. it worked for me, and i think it will work for others, allowing them to truly discover if these things suit you well. personally though, i think it would be better for your first trip to be scary enough to not want to do it again than to have a community of people who don't respect these tools and take them like candy and then wonder why they eventually have unpleasant experiences. like now...
I agree that psychedelics should be used mainly as tools of introspection. But I am not opposed to tripping out with a group of friends and just having a great time. That being said, I believe you can still have a very spiritual and enlightening experience with 1 or two really good friends during a psychedelic experience. The first time I had a strong shroom trip I was with my cousin, who I have known since birth, and that was one of the most spiritually rewarding experiences of my life. We were both tripped out on 5g of good shrooms in the form of chocolates, and we bonded so much that night in the freezing cold weather sitting on a porch staring out into the woods.
