I came across this article while looking for something else, and found it interesting. It seems yet another bunch of lies are there in the bible, or at least mistakes. Stuff doesn't add up though. Thought I'd post it, see what y'all thought about it (bear in mind, while reading it, the high preists in Jesus time were all actually Saducees, not Pharisees. Later writers changed it, because the Pharisees were behind the Jewish revolution in 70AD while the Saducees were against it; and of course, it was the Romans who were writing the bible at the time, and they couldn't be supporting the bad guys and condemning the good guys. Similarly, Pontious Pilate was made a saint). http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/james_still/jesus_trial.html
I thought I had addressed this before, that the 4 biblical accounts were just that: accounts. As it is said, try to get a story from 4 people, you'll get the same events but most likely different order, size, etc.
isn't it weird how extremely incorrect they all are, though? For the inspired word of God, it's not very accurate. The part about the Sanhedrin meeting at night and in Caiaphis' house particularly struck me.
It seems to me that the link TrippinBTM submitted doesn't deal with the inconsistancies between the accounts so much as the unlikelyhood of legitamacy of each seperate account. It's more about the inconsistancies between each gospel and the historical data.
yes, i noted that as well--although i didnt say anything cause i figured Trippin or someonelse would say so
Right, that's the point. It couldn't have happened that way. But I guess it was pointless to post this thread, because it's always written off by the literalists as "inspired by god, written by man." Even though they take it all literally, when errors come up, it's just "inspired" not actually god's dictation. But if errors like that can be made, how can one say it's so accurate and actually God's word?
