I say locks in english and 'takut' in finnish(it kinda means 'knotted'). Most of the people here in finland call dread locks 'rastat' which can be translated as 'rastas'(in plural), but in finnish it just means you have 'rasta-hair' and I don't like that term being used for hair. So it's quite worse in Finland. :)

I think I explained everything by the hard way but I hope someone understands my point. :)

    hey you!

I call my dreads dreads, not locks. Locks can be braids.

I say dreads too, and I think that if we keep the word dread and keep turning it in a positive way, it might just change. Then again, maybe I'm just overly optimistic...

But like Shaga said, a lot of people don't know much and just say rastas. A girl in school with me called me rasta (which wasn't intended as an insult). I kindly told her what rasta and dreads meant, and she was cool.
