i like dreads, cuz thats what they are for me. haha when i hear locks, i think of like goldy locks and like not dreaded hair, but just regular hair,
i always say dreads but i voted locks cause of the history of the term dreads meaning dreadful yet dreads or locks are loveful or lightfull or delightfull onederful
I say locks in english and 'takut' in finnish(it kinda means 'knotted'). Most of the people here in finland call dread locks 'rastat' which can be translated as 'rastas'(in plural), but in finnish it just means you have 'rasta-hair' and I don't like that term being used for hair. So it's quite worse in Finland. I think I explained everything by the hard way but I hope someone understands my point.
I say dreads too, and I think that if we keep the word dread and keep turning it in a positive way, it might just change. Then again, maybe I'm just overly optimistic... But like Shaga said, a lot of people don't know much and just say rastas. A girl in school with me called me rasta (which wasn't intended as an insult). I kindly told her what rasta and dreads meant, and she was cool.
