As anyone who's seen the Dylan Film 'No Direction Home' will be aware, Dylan was influenced early on by the Clancy's and Tommy Makem. In fact, it is recorded that at one time Dylan's ambition was to 'become as big as the Clancy's'
I've been into them for some time - Tommy Makem's voice is surely one of the greatest in recent folk music - followed perhaps by Liam Clancy.
    Stirring songs - great stuff.
Anyone else here share my enthusiasm???

I'm not surprised to hear that. Oldies is certainly accurate - but thats part of the interest for me. I like a lot of contemporary Irish music too -
But surely they're no longer going - two of the brothers being dead?
