No, I didn't just save money by switching to Geicko, But I got my cast removed today. My leg is so nasty and hairy, and torn up a little. I've got some cuts on my leg, and a big cut on the top of my foot. Im still a little afried to put full preasure on it yet. But, when im sitting my leg don't like to be dangling, it has to have preasure then it don't hurt. Is that good? Am I doing fine on not totally walking on it u think, for those who have had a broken leg before, or should I be walking on it?

Yes the skin is tender to shave, and my foot and lower leg hasn't been washed for 2months so you gotta figure that my skin on my leg and foot is pretty dry. I can't even scrach my leg when it iches. That sucks. But you know what, now im happy, a little bit, now I know that i'll be able to walk on it fully soon. So then I wont have a frustrated husband on my hands.

    hahaha that was funny :)

ive broken my arm, but not my leg. but i think you are doing the right thing by taking it easy a bit at first. it only makes sense, your leg muscles arent used to being used at all. will you be going to physical therapy at all?

That's great news and wishing you a speedy recovery. I know it has to be hard with your broken leg-having a newborn to care for and the BS your Man is getting over the Legal crap that's going on. You guys just keep being there for each other and be well and happy. Peace The Wiz

Well that's awesome that you had your cast removed! That's got to feel like a major relief!

Just take it slow as far as putting pressure on it goes. Trust your instincts. You'll become more comfortable with putting more weight down on it with every passing day. When my foot was broken over the summer, I was terrified to put weight down on it for a while. But little by little, I started doing it and became more confident. Just take it slow, and don't start going overboard just because the cast has come off, that leg is going to be weak and it will take some time to get the strength back.

    Hugs...

I was 2 or 3 years old when I had my broken leg. I barely remember wearing a cast. I'd say exercise it gradually increasing the use.

Only thing I can add to that is to do the range of motion exercises as much as you can and do not over do the weight bearing - The doc who took it off should be able to give you some guidelines depending on where the break was.

when i broke my leg i was fortunate enough to have a pool in the back yard to work it out in. i just got sick of my cast one day and cut it off with some rose clippers...hmm....but anway, be easy on it, the muscles are so weak right now.
