Hey.. I am (was) "Rope" back in the "days". Long shot here, but anyone here from those times in Regina? Wascana/Victoria Parks, the Bay, etc? I got busted at one of those ridiculous "Jesus, the cops are paranoid" riots in '69/70... thereabouts. Man.. can't believe I found this site.. I'll be even more shocked if someone actually replies! Cheers!

i lived in the Regina area for many years, but we're talking more '92 than '72. Felt you needed a reply anyway.. hahah! Vic Park is still the place to go if you need to score, shoot the breeze or play some hacky sack though!

Thanks for the reply icedteapriestess. After doing a little runnin' round the site, I realize that most people on here and really young. I guess the "real" freaks from the old days are either at work or don't have computers or, who knows, maybe like me.. they don't (didn't) know that this site exists. Either way, thanks. Victoria Park used to be "the place" way back when. Then, sometime in the early 70's, the city kicked out all the "real" hippies and everybody moved down the road to Wascana Park. Vic Park, it is rumoured, then turned into a gay cruise park and a lot of people were afraid to go there for quite a while. But many of my happy memories from running around Regina with no shoes, beads and woofed-out hair was from those times and, in particular, Victoria Park. Did you grow up in Regina? I'm a musician and used to play there ALL the time. (Still do on occasion)

Actually from Weyburn, but went to University in Regina. Used to live in the Catherdral area, and would spend a lot of time with my friends at Vic Park.... with no shoes, beads and woofed out hair... lol. It wasn't all "young kids" there, although there were plenty of them. There were a couple older dudes, that would tell us stories about the "olden days". The "Gay Days" incarnation of the park must have been before my times, as those of us inclined that way usually just went to the bar. haha.

Wow! Woofed out hair.. you too, huh? Haha Yeah, well, the "Gay" period happened sometimes close to the mid 70's (from what I recall) but, by that time, all of us Vic freaks were up in Wascana Park. I played in Weyburn before too at the, I think, King George or something like that.. an old hotel. Also played at some kind of sportsplex in Estevan a couple of times. MMM.. the good old days.. LOL !!
