does anyone remember that short lived show

with dweezil and ahmet in it??? from the 90s?? and lisa loeb would make some appearances?? it was like a karaoke show or something?? from what I remember?? or they would talk about music.........

 

nevermind, I figured it out..... it was called "happy hour"

anyways, its kinda cool that all of frank zappa's kids are all alcohol and drug free, just like their old man was... its saying alot.

 

yeah, but zappa was pretty much a tool about it...amazing musician, though.

 

so?? if he wanted to live a sober life, why not let him??

why be like everyone else in the industry that wanted to get blazed all the time??

its not easy to live a life of sobriety, especially in the music business.

especially when he created music that most "heads" enjoyed.

 

maybe i didn't go into it enough...

he refused to allow his band to hang out with the dead when they were staying in the same hotel. he thought he had the right to dictate what others did with their free time.

that's what i call "whack".

it was called frank zappa and the mothers of invention, nonetheless.

he had a right to dictate whatever the hell he wanted. it was rather a priviledge for them to even jam with the guy.

Regardless, I definitely respect his avoiding drugs, but he should respect other people's choices as well; assuming what Reid said is the truth. Zappa seemed to have a pretty good idea of what was going on in the world, drugs included. You listen to his songs and lyrics and all the shit he says is pretty true.
