Anybody know him? Like him? I loved 2001's The Swimming Hour by Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire. Now he is solo. On this year's The Mysterious Production of Eggs, he plays all the instruments. Really impressive. He has gotten a bit more low key. But it suits the violin, saw and other odd instruments he plays. And he is coming to L.A. to play the Wiltern in Dec. Very cool. Can't wait! Below is the cover of Eggs.
yay, an andrew bird fan i really got into him this summer. Not only is his recent music like The Mysterious Production of Eggs really good, but i also love his retro-swing music, like on Oh! The Grandeur! he's one of my favorite musicians of this decade, a wonderful violenist/vocalist/whistler, everything! damn good music
Let me pick myself up off the floor. I was beginning to think not one soul knew him. And he does make damn good music. Nice to meet ya!
Andrew bird is amazing....I picked up his cd last year from advice from a magazine and havent looked back....His sound is so refreshing and different from anything else...i cant wait to see him live! too bad hes only opening...but still!
i stumbled across andrew bird a couple of years ago and loved his music, especially as i play the violin. kind of showed me that you dont just have to stick to doing classical music all the time just because you've been classically trained.
Andrew Bird is great, my wife got me in to him. He's playing in Seattle at the Bumbershoot festival and I really REALLY want to go, but it's like 16 hours away. I read a cool Andrew Bird review on Shepizzle.com and saw a music video of Andrew live at Coachella. He is amazing live the way he loops stuff and gets all in to his music.
