Hey people, Got my first set of females that I have ever grown budding at the min! (three of um') They are about 5'-6' tall but the buds seam to be really small even though its been budding for over 5 weeks now? The white hairs (can't spell the real name) are starting to go brown at the tips. I guess the biggest bud is about an inch in length and 2cm in width. Question is when do I know what is the best time to cut them down? Admittedly I don't have any lights on them and they have grow under a skylight in my attic using the suns natural rays! Any help would be appreciated. GeckoMan
Well, seeing as they're not getting much light...your buds aren't going to get bigger...yet, you should wait until the hairs are about 75% brownish
Yeah light is getting sparse now to say the least but don't want to risk lights that give off loads of heat that people can pick up! Plus this is my first go and didn't want to splash out on lighting equipment. Cheers!
In most strains, The amount of time you wait for the color changes will alter the type of high you get. Which is how I distribute AK47 with more heady high, and another batch with more body high.
VenturaPotFarmer:Can you explain the differnce between the "Headyhigh" and the "Bodyhigh"?Also what is the best power of microscope to get when checking the buds?
A 30x optical is perfect. after a certain point, the buds begin to grow more toward a couchlock-buzz. In other words, you get "stoned". Picking them earlier gives a more energetic buzz- you get "High".
Joe High: "Hey let's go outside and toss a frisbee around." Mr. Couchlock: "Naw dude I'm just gonna sit here and watch tv."
