I know how much you liked my thread on the mother who drives from NYC to Binghamton every Friday to bring her son home and then drives him back. Now I have learned that she goes online and selects classes for him. She builds about two or three schedule of classes. We are talking engineering major with a computer science minor. What think you of that ?
The first bad thing is that this woman seems to have no life apart from her son. The second bad thing is even worse; the son seems to have no life apart from his mother. I think we should all chip in and buy this young man a set of testicles for Christmas.
Man, my mom would love that. She works at in a registrars office at one of the local colleges, and she gets to talk with parents like that all the time.
I didn't think that was even allowed. Unless she got his password for his school account. Wouldn't surprise me.
I see a potential problem. From a distance, she won't know what classes he needs to take. Engineering is a pretty cut and dried course of study (compared with other majors). Engineers need to take certain courses at certain times. If it comes up, the lad should follow his advisor's advice over his mother's. (By the way, where is his dad? and exactly how close are mother & son?)
