Elliott Smith is greatly missed. I have all of his albums, 2 concert videos, and 6 bootlegs. You should check out the Elliott Smith Tribute CD. It is definitely worth buying. Music is meant to be emotional, that's what makes E.S. a great musician. In my opinion, he was the best musician of the 90s to present. it's just a fond farewell to a friend
My favorite song by Elliott is "Twilight" from "From a Basement on a Hill." Also, "Somebody that I Used to Know" and "Everything Reminds Me of Her" (<--SO sad) I like listening to him when I'm in a sappy or sad mood, like those moods when you just feel like crying for catharsis. When I'm happy I listen to something more upbeat. I wish I had seen him before he died.
I found a CD in a market stall [selling ptomotional cds that are sent to radio stations].. It was only 50p... That is when i first heard his music.. Glad i happened to stumble across him like that.. pretty sad he died...another person i stumbled across was matthew jay.. he is dead also.. Maybe i should avoid buying CDs from market stalls [or just buy a santana CD]
I am just joking.. no i don't like his music.. i don't wish him dead though. I was just adding a 'amusing' element to my otherwise sombre post.. His strummings all sound alike to me..
he was an amazing guitarest long long ago...but nowadays, he is just making nearly the same song over and over again with different cameos... i know santana can be really good if he tried playing music other then pop...
