How should I scrape my pipe?

That is a cut away drawing of my pipe. I need to know how I should clean the chamber under the bowl and still save my resin. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate input!

I think it may be impossible to scrape anything but the actual bowl. The only way you could clean the inside and keep the resin is to actually break the spoon.

 

Amd that's just out of the question, this pipe's too beautiful.

 

of course. but there really seems to be no other way. just scrape the bowl.

 

put your bowl into a bowl and pour is...something rubbing alcohol ontop of the bowl enough so the bowl is completly covered in the rubbing alcohol. let it sit for 15 or so minutes and then pick it up and run a q-tip through the bowl to get the res out of the bowl and inside your piece. the alcohol wont destroy the color of your bowl and leaves no taste. just rinse it off with some warm water after wards. enjoy.

how desperate for a buzz are you that u need to save the resin inside the chamber... i think u may have developed a severe psychological obsession w/ weed, and may need to seek counseling for fear u will look for stronger drugs like heroin...or crack,. or meth, or coke... seek help!

Whoa, MP, I just want to clean the chamber and have the resin to smoke. Cause right now, it's like my pipe has emphysima(sp???), I have to suck really hard to fill it.

 

ok heres wut you do. turn the spoon upside down and get the resin in the bowl part all nice hot by puttin heat to it. then take a knife and scrape it into a ball and smoke it. after that big ball cover the bowl with one hand like its a huge carb and hit the bowl out of the carb hole. this will heat up the resin inside the bowl. take a close hanger and scrape all the resin you can out of the inside of the bowl and make a big ball. then when your done using all the resin u want. but your bowl in a bag and fill the bag with enough rubbing alcohol to fill the chamber and some salt (rock is best and 90 % rubbing alcohol or greater is best) shake the bag like a mad man then rinse out and your bowl should be pretty damn clean. if not repeat the process a few times and youll be golden.

 

take a few dry hits to soften up the resin. while the peice is still warm, you can get in there and get some big peices of resin out of the chamber quite easily, but you WILL NOT get it ALL. you have to look around to find something that will work. i usually find you can get all sorts of resin out of hard to reach places if you have a wire clothes hanger and a pair of needlenose pliers to twist into different shapes. usually the hook, once straightened out and strategically bent in a place or two, can fit in either through the carb, the hole in the bottom of the bowl, and even sometimes can reach all the way down the stem by going in through the mouthpeice. be dilligent and work at it for a while. scrape everything and anything you can reach this way, and look for better things to scrape with. be careful using metal, you can chip the glass.

once you've gotten everything you can get manually, soak it overnight in some alcohol. you'll have a dark brown/black liquid resulting in the morning. shake a bit, let sit a little longer, shake again and take out the peice. dry the liquid on a clean glass dish, and scrape up what remains. remember airflow and ventilation, dont just dry it off in a closed up room. the stuff that dries there will taste and burn even worse than normal resin, but it WILL get you high and the alcohol doesnt really ADD anytihng to it. so you might as well save it if you can. but you can easily get some out of the chamber, depending on the peice, your ingenuity, and your will to do so

 

i completely cleaned out my chillum a few weeks ago (first time in probably three years) but it took me an hour to do it...i ran it under hot water, then scraped the inside of it and blew out the extra resin (i dont smoke it anymore, gross!). then i repeated that process many... many... too many times! you could just put it in rubbing alcohol and salt, but its not as much fun!
