A kick ass friend showed me how to make some maternity jeans from a regular pair of jeans and a t shirt. This was so fun and it only took 35 minutes a pair. I made the pouch bigger than regular mat jeans cuz I like it that way
ooooooooo! please tell me how you did this... I have no extra money and I don't fit in my clothes anymore. I've been going crazy trying to get old pants to be comfy and all my old maternity wear to stay up (I was bigger last pregnancy).
Thanks guys. I give FULL credit to my dear friend Anna. Here's her tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28377.0 If you ever run into her, give her a cookie or something I did two pair of these jeans. And I used thrift store jeans [of course] and shirts. So for $20 I got two awesome, custom fitted mat jeans, a real mat shirt and a cool stripped wool sweater The sweater is a maternity piece but with the groovy stripes covering my belly, I don't mind wearing something that doesn't cover the stripes, ya know. It looks SO MUCH better the the boring blue pouch sticking out LOL Have fun if you make these EM, and I wanna see pics This is the first pair I made. I cut the back of a little low, but I actually like it better that way. I almost didn't salvage the back pockets, I just wasn't thinking, I was too excited LOL
That's a fantastic idea. I wish I had done something like that when I was pregnant with my little ones. Instead, I spent ridiculous amounts of money on maternity jeans that, once I was at the end of my pregnancy, were uncomfortable around my swollen belly.
Yeah, tell me about it. I'm on my third and last pregnancy and so wish I'd have thought of doing this before <doh>
