Please, for the love of god, don't reply to it! Or, if you must, try to at least argue coherently in favor of weed (make sure you're correct, too, or you just look like a dumbass), and try not to name call. This may be a free speach forum, but senseless namecalling honestly accomplishes nothing, and just turns the anti-drug person more off drugs and drug users, instead of allowing for a more open opinion of us.
honestly, though, wouldnt you people like to have someone that differs in opinion?? it would be kinda boring if everyone here just said "yeah I was mega stoned last night" , "weed is awesome", "Im going to stuff my pipe with some dank nugs I got off a homeless guy", yadda yadda...... its an open forum for discussions, nonetheless.
What I would love is to have a decient argument with someone that has a view different then mine, but who doesn't shrug off whatever I say as non-sense simply because I disagree with them. Thats the problem with this country today. No one will listen to each other! Everyone thinks the opposing side is out to get them and hurt America, and then refuse to listen to them, even if they raise good points. Compromise is what brought America togeather, now the lack of it it tearing it apart...
We have nearly every world government, hordes of cops, federal agents, DARE speakers, organizations, anti-drug comercials (though those are entertaining), teachers, parents, and even sometimes our own friends all opposed to smoking pot and all shoving their opinions down our throats. Over the internet is one of the few places anyone can say anything (C'mon, how many of you want to stand up in class and call your teacher a lying sack of dog shit?) and so when confronted, people tend to over react and flame. So while most of us wouldn't mind a good discussion on the subject, when people come on here all preachy, like everyone thats preached to us before, people tend to let a lot of pent up agression out =P But yeah, like I said in the other thread, the arguments would be a lot more valid and readable if every other post from a stoner wasn't full of insults, swears, and mis-spellings. =S
Also, I'm so sure it's come to this, that we need threads to tell us what to do if we see a thread against weed... Now what do we do when we see a thread bad mouthing weed, kids? Think of Bert the Turtle,
haha instead of insulting the poster, why not have and educated debate? learn their side of the issue, present your side, reinforce your arguement with facts and figures, allow the person to respond..ect...its not to hard to have a civil arguement.
well i dont see how mis-spellings have anything do do with a debate. i mean if you understand what the word is then why does it matter that it is spelled right. it does make the person posting look a bit dumb but it doesnt take away from the fact that they are making a valid argument. Well thats kind of hard to have an EDUCATED debate, when the person your debating is not at all educated on the subject.
yes having a second opinion is a good and an entertaining thing to have when it comes to debating. but when the person on the other side doesnt even listen to what one side has to say then it doesnt make for good entertainment but for a heated argument and also makes both parties IRRITATED.
I completely agree with you, it shouldn't take away from the point that they're trying to make, but none-the-less, it does. Especially in an argument over pot, its all the ammo people need to just say "See, smoking makes you an idiot." when really the problem is plain bad spelling, rushed typing, etc etc. Regardless, they'll throw that out and default away from the actual argument. Believe me, I have horrible spelling. Alwasy did, still do, but taking the time to at least catch most of the typos does a lot for the argument.
