I love Ft. Laud, need to get back there again soon. Anyway, there are scads of festies on the east coast. Personally, I'm only real familiar with the ones up here in NY area, but I remember seeing people post about festies in and around Florida this past festie season. Keep an eye on the forums here, people post all sorts of good festie info.

Lots of stuff goes on in Florida. The big ones not to miss twice a year in Live Oak, FL @ Spirit of the swuanee music park- awesome facilites, awesome group of people who organize it, awesome events- Magfest in October and Springfest in March check it out www.magmusic.com

Uphonia Fest has been moved from Spanish Moss farm in Quincy, FL to Clearwater FL it will run over 2 weekends in a row 3/31-4/2 and 4/7-4/9 www.uphoniafest.com
In the past events at SPanish Moss farm are small and relaxed but the facility is lacking...no shade, no real bathrooms, crappy place to camp nice but not ideal for several days

Sertoma Youth Ranch in Dade City, FL has 8 events a year lots of smaller, native bluegrass, jam, zydeco ect. They are small events that are quickley growing in popularity. Super nice location and facilites, nice folks who put it on great environment. www.sertomayouthranch.com

Lots of gret Folk festivals as well. Big one down by you-South Florida Folk Festival. Check out www.efolkmusic.org

Also the Bamboo Room in Lake Worth is constantly gettting killer line ups check it out for good music.
