i've been looking to buy a poncho for years now, they just dont seel them here in britain (well not untill now). they are in fashion this season but the ones in the shops are all the same & i dont want one that everyone else is wearing. are they easy to crochet yourself or would i have to pay someone to make me an individual one?

I make ponchos, they are very time consuming, but worth it. When I get some pics ready, I'll post them. (my camera takes huge pics, so I need to resize...) I have 2 ponchos finished right now, and another started. I am trying to build an inventory so I can get a clothing website started. I'm in Canada. :)

I really want one too but the ones now are to light and in solid colors. I also want one that is handmade and with more natural colors, maybe even some fringe......goodness i'm so picky :) When my mom was little her grandmother crocheted her a poncho that reached her feet. I am trying to learn to crochet. Crystal Palace free pattern - easy poncho: One Fine Yarn

I make poncho's. I'm finishing one for my daughter right now. I made one for myself last year. I can put up pics if you want to see my creations. They take a little more than a week to make depending on how thick you make them.

solid colored ponchos are easy to crochet stripes are a bit harder, and patterns are the most difficult. i do it by crocheting two giant triangles, then seam them together, but not in the middle (head hole.) however, others on the sight suggest making a circle (head hole) and crocheting a giant square around it. which ever suits you.

I love poncho's and bought one a couple years ago and kids at my school were all "Look, she's wearing a blanket" and now they're in and everyone wears them and it's ridiculous. I hate close minded thinking. This is completely off subject, but what can you do?
