Britains mushroom laws changed at the start of this year (they are now a Class A substance/they are now part of the most feared drug band-width in the UK). What alternatives are there to shrooms? What are other British shroom-ophiles doing to fill the gap (apart from sporing their own, I tried that once and created a lethal fungi-fuzz thingy).?

um, "spore" isn't a verb, but you can VERY easily cultivate mushrooms at home. lethal fungi-fuzz? probably not. you either weren't expecting the mycellium to look the way it does, or you probably got a slight fungal contamination, which can happen with improper handling and such.....

i suggest doing some homework on indoor cubensis cultivation and try it again. or else you can always learn to graft peyote onto faster growing cacti and do that at home. i believe peyote is still legal in the UK....if not, there's always san pedro and peruvian torch, but they are much weaker than peyote

Try some of the synthetic psilocyn derivatives (4-HO-DiPT, anyone?)...

As for growing your own, I grew a couple Mycobags...or really the mushrooms didn't grow, so much as did the mold. :( Take nesta's advice and use a REAL growkit, don't throw your money away on the "stick 'n stash" growbags. ;)

It's also good to check the soil around where the shrooms grow in the wild. and check the ph, water, and light conditions that are causing them to grow there.

i wouldnt advise any kit at all, its much better and cheaper to just use PF tek. though when fresh mushrooms were legal in the UK, i know that there were ready-to-use kits that already contained WELL ESTABLISHED mycelium ready to fruit! even if those are no longer available, you can order them for shipping within the EU many times from websites based in europe outside of the UK....some may still try to ship to the UK, even if its no longer technically legal, and if it DOES get caught coming in to customs you'll almost surely just get a letter saying the laws have changed and you need to stop ordering such products.
