After several viewings of F911, and following the articles/reviews/forums/etc I've yet to see the view of the younger population. What do YOU think?
I didn't see it (yet), but my mom came home and said "It's sooo good! Plus, I hate George Bush, so...." She went on about it for a miute, I really gotta see it now...
I loved it too, it was a great film. Some things could have been changed, some points could have been made better, some things were left out. But all-in-all I thought it was well done, and well-timed ;D It definatly got me amped up to vote to say the least.
There were a few things that were skewed, just to be fair. Such as his portrayal of pre-war Iraq as the happy land of frolicking children. There was also a scene where the mother of a dead soldier broke down in front of the White House, at which point I think they should've turned the camera off. Otherwise it was very moving. Some people how criticized the movie because of the graphic shots of bomb victims, but I think that it proved a very good point. If somebody took a hand grenade and blew up some random person in front of you, you would be scarred for life, yet people support war because they don't associate war with actual people somehow. It's not a person shooting a person, it's the righteous battle between one country and another. It was a very good movie- three thumbs up.
i don't think i need to see it really,, if it wasnt anything mind blowing i probly would have heard about it. but IMO that movie was made to sway the brix
I'll have to wait for it to come on video because the only theatre in the county refuses to play it. eh. oh well. I just saw bowling for columbine the other day so now I really wanna see it.
On the whole I thought that the movie was a realistic portrait of the Bush administration.... some parts were over done (IE: when they show them getting done up before going on TV, it was just too long) but on the whole I think that its an important movie that reveals how sneaky Junior and his little elves really are
Yeah, sadly enough the general public DOES need something like this. I knew bush was an incompetent, arrogent redneck idiot before I went to see it, like the above poster said, it was a good laugh.
I actually just saw it tonight. It was better than I expected, really, and very moving. There are some points that I'm a little skeptical of, as in the connections between the Bush and Bin Laden families; I realize and can understand the Carlyle group, oil companies, etc. bridging them with Saudis, but what exactly are they trying to say, that the Bushes had domething to do with Osama Bin Laden's attacks? I can accept that they knew much more than they said or prepared for at the time, had much more intelligence than they shared with the public, but going farther than to say they just didn't take preventative measures is a little too far. But aside from a few things, thankyou Micheal Moore. Thank you thank you thankyou, though on the most part he'll probably just be preachin to the choir.
but what exactly are they trying to say, that the Bushes had domething to do with Osama Bin Laden's attacks? They didn't say that, they we're simply saying that the Bush administration used the attack to thier advantage.
I've emailed Michael Moore and seen all his work a billion times, and I must say.....he is my hero for life. I am suprised that so many thinkers DONT like him, when he is so activist and blunt..... And ya know, I hear people saying that they shouldnt have showed some things, they were too personal or too gruesome or too this and that, but this whole deal IS personal and gruesome. The whole problem is that people DONT know how bad it is, and they NEED to know. If he hadnt had put those things in there, it would not have been real or realistic. He was truthful, it was a bucket full of truth. To cut some of the drama would have changed the genuine nature of the film. The media does a nice job of that already. Michael isnt as censored. So, please, dont criticize it, because.......its just so eye-opening and awesome. Dont tarnish that with petty little issues.
I agree totally. Also, I've talked to several republican/bush fans that went, a few of them decided to change thier party affiliation. The emails from viewers on the f911 site also had the same experience. I think some bush fans will go just for the hell of it, at least I would. Who knows? peace
Honestly...I didn't like it much. I didn't get much out of it. It was the same old stuff I've heard/read about. I don't know...I was expecting more for some reason and I didnt get it. -maggie
