Last night i was making tea in the kitchen and I turned around really fast and I could feel a ringing in my ears, my heart going really fast, everything goes blank and next thing I know, I have my mum waking me up, i could hear her calling me by my name as I laid on the floor unconscious. I fainted and banged my head against the floor and had convulsions. My mum said she got so scared because my eyes rolled back, my face went pale, and i was twitching and convulsioning for about 5 seconds til I opened my eyes and came back. It was really scary, though i didnt feel a thing, i can't remember anything. they called an ambulance and they took me to hospital to have some tests and they told me I was ok. but they want to examine my heart again, so they want me there for furher tests. I'm going to my gp tomorrow, I've been feeling a bit dizzy today and my head hurts too. At the hospital, the nurse said she didnt think it was epilepsy, because I was fine after it happened, but perhaps I have some other condition or perhaps it was just that somthing affected my blood pressure or something. I've felt like this before but i never fell unconscious, I'm a bit worried.
Hey you didnt just smoke weed before you passed out right. Cause it can cause a quick drop in blood preasure causing you to pass out?
I haven't smoked weed in ages, in fact i've given up everything that I thought was making me ill, weed, alcohol, cigarretes....and now this happens!
Zeppelina we've never chatted before but I hope it's not too serious! From a purely objective point of view it does make me curious what might be causing something like that. Pure fainting can sometimes occur just from lots of stress/nerves coupled with not eating, low blood sugar and low blood pressure from just getting up etc.. but with everything else, there must be an explanation of some sort. Hope you get better
thanks Sundew, i too hope its nothing serious..!! I feel curiouis about knowing what triggered this and all those other times when i have felt like i was about to faint. My mum wants me to see a neurologist and get me to scan my brain...it's so scary.
a while ago when I smoked some really strong weed I could hear a ringing in my ear, and my hear went super fast, I started twitching and shit. and I also passed out inbetwee. Hey was the ringing really loud and unbrarebly(sp?) irritating?
not really. It's not the wost part of the whole thing that happens. The worse is when i feel like my head heats up and my heart beats like crazy...the ringing feels more like a numbing sensation, like i go deaf for a few seconds til everything goes back to normal. I have a doctor's appointment in about 1 hour, I hope they send me for tests soon, everyone here is worried about me.
let us know how it works out, my doctor said it could of been a mitral valve prolapse(murmur syndrome), but I havnt gotten the results back yet.
I hope your feeling better and everything is well...i've seen someone have that happen to them once before but they were having a seizure.
i had something similar happen to me yesterday and i decided to look online in hope that i'd figure out why exactly it happens ( which is how i found this post ). i didn't pass out either because i sat down on the floor and someone gave me food and i dont know if the food helped but the sitting did. otherwise i probably would have passed out. what happened in my case is i smoked a lot and after i got up and walked into a barnes & noble with some friends and went upstairs i heard a really high pitched irritated ringing noise, my heart was speeding up, i was twitching also but i've been known to twitch a lot after smoking, and i started to black out. then i grabbed a friend and told him i needed to sit down and so we sat on the floor. today i decided i'd ask some people i know who've had a lot of experience with smoking. both of the people i asked said this has happened to them before and the first person i asked said she knew another girl who it happened to also. so i guess it's not all that unusual. after looking around, i found something that described the symptoms but didnt say it was related to smoking but just addressing the issue in general. however, it said that poor circulation to the brain may cause ringing in the ears and that may have to do with passing out. that's believable since weed does effect the circulation in your brain. i'm not 100% sure if that's the cause as to why that happens but maybe it is? or maybe its what you said you were waiting for the results for.
