You are talking 20/21st century right..not to believe all you read on the net..but i think wool is being pulled over my eyes
So, are you in the military yet? Are you in the middle of a broiling desert with rebel insurgents trying to do anything they can to kill you? Put up or shut up. As for this American Pride....Why on Earth should I feel pride? Just because you are born into a country doesn't mean you have to feel any sort of sentiment at all, good or bad, for that country. It's not like anyone can choose where they are born. This country was founded by a group of convicts and religious zealots who fled their countries (guess they didn't have national pride either, eh)? came to this land, learned how to survive from the Native Americans. Once they had nothing else to gain from the Natives, they killed them all and forced them into these God-awful Hellholes. As if that's not enough, now they decide that they are too lazy to work for themselves the way the Native Americans did and they brought over slaves to do the work for them. AND THEN, sitting on their plantations making profits off the land that they aren't even doing the work for, they decide they don't want to pay taxes either. So they start a war with England for their freedom, despite the fact that they took freedom AWAY from the slaves and the Native Americans. Go figure. Let's recap: Pilgrims come here, destroy the land and the Indians, go to war with THEIR native land, import slaves to do all the work for them, wait until the 1920s to let women vote, wait until the 1960s to let blacks vote and the whole time manage to convince the whole country that America is a land of peace and freedom. Hell, even the flag tells the story: Under the cover of the stars they came across the blue sea. And when the whites came, the land ran red with blood. So excuse me for not really being proud of the good ol' US of A. America is like, what, a little more than 200 years old? That's like a toddler as far as countries and histories go. The War in Iraq is based entirely on lies. There were no Weapons of Mass Destruction, Saddam's been out of there for like a year now and they have their own elected official. Why are we still there? We shouldn't have been there in the first place. Yes, Saddam was a vicious man, but aside from Bush's vendetta for his dad, why did we have to interfere? MEANWHILE, the man who was responsible for 9/11 AND the beginnings of the War on Terror, Osama bin Laden, IS STILL MISSING AND AT LARGE ALMOST 5 YEARS LATER. There are more police officers in NYC than there are American GI's in Afghanistan. If you really think that this is such a great place to be and that this war is on the up and up, I feel so sorry for you. You just believe the government's propaganda hook, line and sinker. I guess that's OK, though, because when it really comes down to it, the US needs people that are willing to risk getting hot lead pumped into them and pumping hot lead into innocent people in an innocent country. George W. and Dick Cheney and all the rest of those aristocratic fucks on Capitol Hill need people like you to take bullets for them. You're just fueling the Anti-America movement that's sweeping the rest of the globe. As for your comments about if you don't like it here, then get out? Dick..er, Duck, sorry, I have been trying to get out of America for about 3 years now. Problem is, it's so hard to get Visas and work permits and citizenship in other countries, it's almost like you're a prisoner here. Everyone can get in, but no one can get out. Plus, no other country really wants Americans living among them anyway. We're hated almost everywhere. By the way, the Army has changed the ages of enrollment to 16-34, both men and women. I think you're older than 16, Duck. What's stopping you from running down to the recruiter's office and signing away the next 4 years of your life?
I do not fully agree with the war, but that doesn't mean what was started shouldn't be seen through I am not goin into the military, unless I'm drafted
