Yes I did it a couple of times. When your new plant starts to show its 2nd internode use a pair of tweesers to remove the centre shoots. Your plant should grow into a noticable ( Y ) shape giving two main kolas. But this is like two large plants living off one root ball. I normally use one of the main stems as a clone as its too much of a drain on the root ball.
