I don't really know how to explain this so here goes... I really like the song Battle Of Evermore by Led Zeppelin, like that easy, folk music kinda thing with the mandolin sound. Also I like the sound of Bron-Yr-Aur, also by Led Zeppelin, which is just a very gentle song, and it's very relaxing. Does anyoe know anymore music at all like these two songs? I would really appriciate it... Thanks.
If you are a fan of Battle of Evermore, I have THE band for you Fairport Convention Sandy Denny sang for them, and also did the backing vox on Battle of Evermore. The Fairport albums with her are alot like that, and heavy on the trad british folksongs. Also some Dylan covers and their own stuff, her voice is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. Some fiddle and mandolin, as well as spooky and fun songs. I suggest their Leige and Leaf album, or Unhalf Bricking. I can hear Leige and Leaf a million times, and always enjoy it. Later, we can talk about sandys solo work!
I also like that sort of music. The battle of evermore is insanly good! oooow, dance in the darkness...
OH yes! I whole-heartedly recommend Fairport! Sandy's my favourite female singer, and she did an amazing job duetting with PLant...
ther's a few i know. connie dover i had the pleasure of working with her in wyoming. kemper krabb great music. and wyndinwyr i think that's how you spell it i could be wrong.
fairport convention and led zeppelin are NOT celtic music although i suppose they are a product of celtic innovation Celtic music is the traditional (i.e pre-60s ) music of the celtic nations (wales, cornwall, isle of man, ireland, brittany, northumbria and galicia). Although with the spread of these traditional tribal people, their music has also spread, to the rest of the world with them. Music of Wales Celtic Music
I would add The Tain by Horslips to that list, a concept album based on the ancient Irish myths of Cuchulain Also their Book of Invasions album. they use traditional Irish instruments as well as rock ones
