Driving Stoned!?!?!?!

hey who here thinks driving stoned shouldnt be a crime. i live in atlanta here and the traffic is shitty as fuck. and back when i first started driving i drove while stoned. i dont think it could realy impair your driving that much. like driving drunk is hard as fuck but high is just so easy.

 

yeah smart, make it legal to drive under the influence of drugs, you do know your not even suppose to drive when emotional upset in anyway? yeah try and make that driving stoned is legal thing fly.

 

some people can drive stoned, some people can't
simple as that...

worry about making weed itself legal before worrying about that.

 

quite simply, it should definately be illegal. people can take the risk but having it legal would be so stupid considering the amound of weed SOME people smoke. however i dont disrtespect people who drive when high.. but those who drive when drunk i just wont have it

 

Of course it should be illegal. People are shitty drivers in general. Dont try to say that getting high doesnt affect your driving, it does in some way. If you have to make a quick decision, it would be pretty hard. In some cases, you are talking about life and death and with less stoned drivers, there would be a least 2 or three more people alive in this world. Its not worth making it legal just so stoners can get a kick, even if only one person would be killed by it. Sorry if that doesnt make any sense, i have trouble articulating my ideas when im high.

 

2 or 3? plenty more crashes happen than that on account of weed. the thing with stoned driving is it only really becomes a problem when you leave familiar areas and traffic types. so many people dont realise how bad they could go

 

I think it should be illegal to drive stoned, because while most people can drive pretty good when they are stoned, there is a point where you have smoked entirely too much to be driving. With alcohol, the cops can regulate the blood alcohol level and decide what is safe and what is not, but you can't measure how much THC has been consumed in an evening, so it should just be completely illegal to drive while stoned.

We're speaking hypothetically. If weed was legalized, should it still be illegal to drive while stoned? That's what we're talking about.

 

I drive better stoned than drunk. It should be legal.

 

I drive while stoned, but only if I feel I can (I usually drive around a familiar block for a bit to test), if I know where I'm going, if I know how long it's going to be...and only if it's unavoidable.

I drive fine, the only bad thing is sometimes I'll just go too damn slow haha

 

It should be illegal. Yes, I know that there are studies, and definitely anecdotes, of how being high makes you drive better, but I'm not so sure I buy it. When you're paying attention, yeah, you drive fine...until something else grabs your attention. Then you start to drift. I notice that when I drive stoned.

Driving a car is a complex, and also very dangerous, activity. I am not a fan of anything that might make it more so. Too many people die on the road already.

Although, it'd be hard to say if someone was high. All the evidence is red eyes and maybe the smell of weed. A blood test wouldn't work either (though, that IS the reason they say 1/3 of all accidents are marijuana related...THC in the blood, even from a month before, goes onto the police report as a cause).

i used to always drive stoned, smoking WHILE driving etc.

i also drive while i'm drunk

it's all about wether u think u are capable of doing it safely, i've been driving for 4 years now, and just recently i've felt safe enough to drive drunk because i know myself, know my driving limits, and know when to NOT drive

either way, it's fuckin stupid but there's times u cant avoid it, i know the consequences, penalties and risks, and if i think there is any chance of endangering myself, or any passengers, i wont take it.

 

This is the kind of thing that helps keep weed Illegal, society already frowns upon driving while drunk. The majority of people wouldn't believe and/or understand that driving while high is easier, especially considering the fact that it is still illegal. Besides driving while intoxicated is stupid. Yes, somtimes it has to be done but one should not make a haibit of it. If tokers Consider leaglizing driving while high, it will only help fuel the goverment in keeping ganja illegal. If we really want to go about legalizing weed we must present our case in a responseable manner. We have to display a set of laws, like those alcohol cunsumption follows, to toking up responseably. Driving high, while safer, will not be seen in such a good light to the uneducated non-smoking public, who are the ones we must convince if we wish to end the petty war on weed.

Besides toking up and driving is a waste of perfectly good "chill" time that can be used on somthing more productive. Like killing the munchies for instance.

dude i made this thread when i was baked off my ass and i said it wrong i diddnt mean make drivcing under the influence of weed legal i was just tryin to state how easy it is. but when im stoned i take things to drastic measures in my head there for i said driving stoned should be legal. personally i can't drive if im drunk or tired as fuck (when i totalled my car). i can drive perfectly when im blazed but i diddnt even mean to make this thread but i was blazed and i dont think you can deleat threads so just dont look at me as a supporter of dui. i was trying to say driving stoned is so easy it should be legal, but in a way i was speaking metaphorically sp?. i dunno sorry guys im still baked from last night so if im not makin sense feel free to tell me to shut the fuck up.
