I was watching television the other night with my ONE politically-active friend, and there was this public meeting on about cleaning up Hanford's nuclear waste. Everyone was just talking, and it wasn't too interesting, until 4 older (in their 70s?) women with big gaudy hats came up to the microphone and sang this song about how whoever's in charge needs to clean up all the waste. I loved it! I mean, most people just speak when they have an issue with this sort of thing, but these women were singing, and getting the point across in a different way. It makes me wonder, does anyone know who these women are, if they're in a club or something? I'd like to do something like that, because I'm sure a lot more people listened to them singing than the other people who were just bitching and complaining. Thoughts?
