another thought i just had (God, free will, heaven, etc)

this question came to me as i was reading my last thread, but i figured it would receive more replies if i made another one.

a lot of people seem to get upset that God created evil, and gave us free will. "if He loved us, why doesnt He let all of us into heaven right from birth?"
well could it be that He wants us to make the right decisions on our own, letting only the people who take their time to find Him enter heaven?

also, without evil there could be no good.

 

i see your point here, and i must say i agree with it for the most part...

also the evil thing, i agree, evil must exist for good to exist, otherwise it is moot, an the good has nothing to be good against [by comparison]. if evil could not exist, there would only be "it"

 

that reminds me of Tuck Everlasting.. they're not living because they cant die, so they are only "it"...

dont tell me you havent seen that.

 

but, why did god need or even want to create humans, to give them evil and good and free will, to wait for them to choose, to wait for them to find him, to wait for them to fall in love with him and worship him, then to let them into heaven?

chuck, it is kinda new and has that same girl from tuck everlasting in it, but it also has a few other girls [one from Joan of arcadia]--it is a sappy (pre)teen girl movie

 

maybe you're fooling yourself. like today i went to pick up a tub of ice cream and i thought it was full, but it was really empty, and i almost hit myself in the face with it. i don't know if that's relevant at all.

God's hell would be having tons of good stuff to share and nobody to share it with. Of course, God isn't in hell because God made souls to feel God's goodness.

It does take a little bit of experience to know it is God's will that controls all things and that we simply feel what God has done. Sometimes you gotta smack a soul to get it to understand.
