Big Star rules... they have one of the best sounds of any band ever, very lush guitars, very big drums, and Chilton's voice is fantastic. That and Morpha Too has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

They have a new album that's pretty damn good as well...

If you like them, you might check out the Chris Bell solo record "I Am The Cosmos"...it's hauntingly beautiful

Yes, I have because in 2000 I bought "That 70's Show Rockin' Album"(1999) Big Star have a sng on it called "September Gurls". They do not sound like typical 70's music, it is a more lame souding song that is common of the 1990's and 2000's. Yet it is from the 70's, it's alright but nothing remarkable. It's by far my least favorite song from that album. Perhaps they have better songs in their repertoire. They are Country Rock, which is a style of Rock that appeared in the 60's.

Big Star are excellent. They have 1 or 2 live albums that are kinda disappointing though. Haven't heard the new album yet but read a good review on it.

Big Star is the very reson I call myself a power pop girl. They influenced many current power pop artists...Matthew Sweet, Rilo Kiley, John Davis and his Superdrag band.

The Big Star Live album is superb.
