    http://www.throwplace.com/
I found a great website called ThrowPlace.com where businesses and individuals are able to list their excess possessions they might ordinarily throw away. Charities, businesses, and people registered with Throwplace.com are then able to search the site for items that would be of use to them. These items are not for sale—they are to be given away. What a great way to keep stuff out of the landfill and fill the needs of others! It makes me wish I had a business so I could take part..... :( But it's good to know that it's happening. Yaaaay! :D

I'm already a member of that site, I think it's great! You don't need to have a business, regular people can join it for free and put things on it or look for things they want. I just got rid of my roommates old mattress! ( hehe)

I'm really glad to hear that. :) If I could afford to have old supplies, I would love to donate them whenever I found a way to buy new ones.... maybe someday.... :)

In the meantime, everyone ask your boss or whomever to check out this site. There's really nothing to lose from it... you were just going to throw it away, anyhow. And you might get a tax writeoff!

Yeah, there was a yahoo group like that. You'd join the group and your area, and give stuff away. Like if you had an old fridge, you could tell everyone where to pick it up, and you could ask if someone had something you needed in your area, like an old bike or something. It was cool.

I think throwplace is for americans only, yeah. I saw the yahoo one too, but it just looks confusing to me. The throwplace site is just better done and is nation wide, and the yahoo one is just for every town. I used it again and got rid of a bunch of clothes that don't fit me any more! I'm addicted, I tell you. :sunglasse
