I wish I could agree with you but the facts show that certain policies are not just local stores. I am not talking about just PC issues. Wal-Mart is planing to move health clinics on site (among other things)and use employees medical information to make decisions about hiring and promoting their employees. Local managers do not have the authority to take such actions. Their unhealthy need not apply plan violates several federal statues including the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation and HIPA (Health Insurance Portability Act).

What is wrong with bringing health clinics on site.. ?.

I am not sure about the opening hours of Wal-mart but over here...it is seems a shift away from the 9-5 surgery is badly needed.. If it is favourable to locate GP clinics in supermarkets.. i can't see a issue [says the man who is not hateing Wal-mart ]..

It seems to come down to ''Wal-Mart's money-saving treatment of workers'' ... and thats indefensible on a morale POV.
Though i err towards it being slightly hyperbolic nonsense..as it has been taken out of context .. like that nice phrase ''Wal-Mart's money-saving treatment of workers'' i am sure it has a ounce of truth..but it is a business ana, i think it would not break and recruitment laws as it would just do it no favours http://www.walmartfacts.com/associates/diversity.aspx
You could put all that down to PR etc etc but you have to give them some kinda credit [don't you ?]
Again i don't think it would intentialy break any federal laws.. but like many prosecutions it becomes a test of legal sub sections.
In trying to prove a case, no law will not be un-turned in trying to prove the case for discrimination..even if it comes down to interpretation of those laws. I think 1.5 million pages of evidence says a lot for trying to find a tenuose impropriety in regards to Wal-mart..and i am sure Wal-mart is just as analy retentive in proving itself innocent also.

I work for Asda, which is a UK supermarket chain owned by Wal*Mart and it sucks ass to work there. All everyone is concerned with is driving costs down (by cutting people's hours, pay and holidays by not giving them a working contract) and driving profits up (by buttfucking people into working harder for less money).
I could waffle on forever about how much I hate Wal*Mart but I'm actually gonna be late for work and my ass is sore enough today ...
