A person is smart. People are dumb. Everything they've ever "known" has been proven to be wrong. A thousand years ago everybody knew as a fact, that the earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, they knew it was flat. People think or don't think that aliens exist and they say they don't have the time to think about it. Nobody spends time doing it because they have the little things they call "lives"... but if nobody thought of these things... where would we be today. Imagine what could have been known today if more people did. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow.... ~ George
Oh, people are just so damn simple and it often makes me wonder why sometimes... did you know, everything we have created we have created ourselves... it's such a simple thing to think or say but to go deeper than the words is something different. We create what is created... wether it be what is already in existance or what is to come, it is created by ourselves. Look around you. Everything you see.... it may not be direct... but indirectly, if it is here.... you know.
Someone knows all we know is wrong... doesn't mean they're a bad person, don't get mad at them, in fact, welcome it. A thousand years ago everybody knew as a fact, that the earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, they knew it was flat. Now, let's find out for ourselves. People think or don't think that aliens exist and they say they don't have the time to think about it. (eh?) Nobody spends time doing it (what?) because they have the little things they call "lives"... but if nobody thought of these things(?)... where would we be today. (???) Imagine what could have been known today if more people thought about crap like aliens instead of furthering civilization? We'd still be throwing our crap at each other. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow... who cares? You're either eager, or apprehensive... don't worry, now's the time. Don't get mad, offensive, arsenio... perhaps we just don't understand each other... it's all a communication problem. I think over a beer we could solve much.
I undestand you quite fine. You are one who seems to not understand... and I've known it all along.... you sure know how to piss me off because I hate the name Arsenio. Not only do I not drink beer and not drink at all, I really don't give a crap if you can't understand it, because I know you can't because I already know you well as it is and I don't know you well personally.... and yet at this point, you still have no clue of what I am talking about - it being of a different frequency. And the things you thought that you understood that I spoke of are false... exactly what I had come to expect. Next in line please.
Well, that's what I'm gettin at: I know you understand me; I don't want to brag, but I've spent a lot of money honing my communication skills; they are quite good and I have no doubt you understand me. You communication skills, though very very good, especially for your age, are not well enough to convey such philosophical ramblings. Though, I'm sure, your words spark familiarity in other youngins. You do seem quite popular. I said, in a friendly tone, that perhaps in person, over a beer perhaps, that we could solve much. I'm sorry, but you do not seem nearly affable enough for that. You've become defensive again. If the name arsenio bothers you so much, I'm sure you could've found a more polite, far less smug approach. I apologize for the alternate name, George. carry on.
It's not that I understand your words. I understand your thoughts. It doesn't take letters, words, or paragraphs to feel the thoughts of someone, but the thing is, you don't understand me for a reason. And that reason isn't because of my communication skills - that they are not good. I seem to have thrown many people off with those on purpose. It's not about communication skills, it's about a mental thought process. It's more than meets the eye. Ok, i'll put it into simile terms... it's like a two way radio. I understand what one person says, but they don't understand me. And for a reason... the person doesn't understand what i'm saying on the other end. Communication skills don't have a damn thing to do with it because it isn't what you say on paper... in pixels... in whatever... it's what you understand on the whole. Maybe you not understanding is on your end. Maybe you just aren't meant to understand... I know one thing, i'm probably the only person who fully understands, van sectomy. ~ George
what a deep, deep thread. and your first post reminded me of men in black, when K and J had a little talk that consisted of alot of what you said there
lmao... I know. That's one thing I based it on... I think there are a lot of deep meanings in parts of that movie. Other than that... wow... my mouth tastes like potato.
It's not that I understand your words. I understand your thoughts. (So, you don’t understand my words, but you understand my thoughts? Are you sure that’s what you wanted to say, X-man?) It doesn't take letters, words, or paragraphs to feel the thoughts of someone, but the thing is, you don't understand me for a reason. (But words are the foundation of this site. And, um, you feel my thoughts? Again, do you have special powers?) And that reason isn't because of my communication skills - that they are not good. I seem to have thrown many people off with those on purpose. (You throw people off on purpose? That’s a bit of a jackass thing to do, don’t you agree?) It's not about communication skills, it's about a mental thought process. It's more than meets the eye. (And once more, you have special powers? From where I sit, communication isn’t one of them.) Ok, i'll put it into simile terms... it's like a two-way radio. I understand what one person says, but they don't understand me. And for a reason... the person doesn't understand what i'm saying on the other end. (You forgot to provide a reason.) Communication skills don't have a damn thing to do with it because it isn't what you say on paper... in pixels... in whatever... it's what you understand on the whole. Maybe you not understanding is on your end. (It could be) Maybe you just aren't meant to understand (maybe)... I know one thing, (are you sure?) i'm probably the only person who fully understands, van sectomy. (You use many words to say so little.) Now, I’m not trying to be mean, George; I hope you’re not trying to be pompous, believing that your thought process is beyond that of the common people; but you’ve made it clear, in other threads, that you doubt people understand what you say: “i'm sure than many of you do not have a single clue of what I am speaking of and I grin at the thought.” You grin at the thought? You like confusing people… and then you boast that you’re the only one who understands?! You make it sound as if it’s their fault for not understanding, when in fact, it’s yours… you’re not clearly conveying your opinions. That’s a communication problem. Now, I love your rants, I admire the work you put into them, I think more people should rant, let’s get these thoughts out there, diversify, it’s a grand idea… but do so only without deceit and ego. I’ve been educated, and I am paid, to identify and correct nonsense in print; my job is to make sure the newspaper-purchasing public will comprehend what they’re reading. Your head may contain grand ideas, you may be one erudite sonofabitch, but your ability to convey to print your thoughts has been proved inadequate. If there is a reason I don’t understand you it’s because your high-horse neighs too loudly, young man… you’ve much to learn. Don’t blame people for their lack of perception - it’s not their fault - but rather take responsibility, or at lease acknowledge your age and inexperience. Don’t blame the reader… it’s your job to make it clear. Oh, but aren’t I the fool who quarrels with obstinate youth. Oh, George, where did we go wrong? My poor heart weeps at 56 kbps, affecting not only my existence, but those lonely bug-eyed souls fixed between a sticky world-wide web and puberty. Could Gandhi help? I really don’t know. Could the Pope? Beats me. Could I? I’m trying, buddy. Could you? That would help. A game so easy to play: yesterday? Yes, yesterday. Today: blue skies forever. Oh wouldn’t that be grand, young day-trippers?
That's because you have, as I assumed, Xtraordinary powers. You even knew I would reply this way... Bravo!
I was thinking similar thoughts as this the other day. I noticed that I think about people and their lives a lot and I spend a lot of time laying around and not really thinking that much at all. All that time wasted not thinking or just thinking about people is really building up and I was thinking that if I spent all that time thinking and pondering useful things, I would maybe make a difference in this world. But I have nothing important to think about so I suppose I'll just keep wasting thinking time.
in general yes... but there are some pretty people out there as well http://www.id.ucsb.edu/fscf/library/RUSSELL/FlatEarth.html yes... and if everybody went around thinking of these things, we'd never get anything done and would eventually starve. Philosophy is ok, but someone actually has to do the work.
